I think Mullaney could draw the slot spot, if Stewart doesn't shift in on 3 WRs sets.

I don't disagree, I just wonder if Chris Black wouldn't be grandfathered in. Though Stewart was overtaking Jones until he got hurt, so I guess we're willing.

I hope this front 7 doesn't flop

Yea I though Frazier would at least be ahead of Lake at this point but you are correct, he hasn't done anything yet, guess I was just looking at potential and would hate to see guys like Frazier, Hand and Evans get frustrated and transfer.

Reed, Lake, Pettway, Lee, and Devall are entering their final years of eligibility. Wow, that 2012 class was deep as hell.

A'Shawn, J.Allen could jump to the NFL, as could a guy like Anderson depending on his production. So guys like Evans, Hand, Miller, Frazier, and Payne will be at the top of the rotation next season. Hopefully we give them enough reps this season to keep the engaged and prepared to take over in 2016.

This. No way anybody transfers. They are slated to get the tons of snaps in 2016 and 2017

From Saban:
quote:

Cam Sims (knee) could play in the game. Will make a call on that later in the week.

thats pretty crazy, must be progressing much better than expected. i think its telling that mulaney was the first guy saban mentioned in today's press conference when asked about the WRs. I kinda think they will just let Sims take a redshirt to get 100% healthy if Mullaney can perform, because they kinda fill a similar role

Damn everyone made it out like Cam absolutely wrecked his knee. Now he may be ready for the start of the season?

that was certainly the scuttlebutt. there was talk about him doing acl and mcl as well as bone damage. i was really surprised to see him at all in fall practice. I would still be really surprised if he played in the first half of the season

that's good news about Cam. I thought for sure he'd be one of our top WRs this season, but after that injury I just expected the worst and figured we'd see him again in 2016. He was most likely our best blocking WR coming into this season.

yeah. like i mentioned before, it would make sense to see how mullaney contributes this year, hes a big physical guy like sims with really good hands, he might be able to be that guy for the team this year and let sims take a medical and get 100%. worst thing that could happen for sims is to reinjure it

I don't take it as a good sign that TFS is listed as co-starter with OJ.

c'mon OJ, let your nuts hang

i think TFS is going to be a really good player for us. like a bigger more athletic brad smelley. honesty i dont care who breaks out, but i feel we need to utilize TEs in the pass game this year. we dont have cooper to rely on, going to have to spread it around to keep other teams guessing till someone established themselves as the man

This was surprising even though I said Ridley consistently got the most separation of any of the WRs on fan day

He probably blocks a lot better. Will be key in the run game. We have sorely missed big Mike

Only Stewart named an outright starter at WR, probably gonna be the most Cooper esque in regard to the screen game.

Not shocked about Black, Mullaney has been working and it seems he's still stuck trying to break out.

Lake better hold on for dear life, the Payne Train hasn't slowed yet. I'm sure both Reed and A'Shawn will take snaps there too.

Reed said a while back they don't care where they play on the DL, just who they play against.

quote:

SAM - Dillon Lee
Rashaan Evans
Christian Miller

MIKE - Reggie Ragland
Shaun Dion Hamilton
Walker Jones / Adonis Thomas

WILL - Reuben Foster

JACK - Denzel Devall
Ryan Anderson

It's about damn time Dillon Lee drew the start, seems like year after year he'd get talked up in practice but it never materialized in games.

I'm sure there'll be groans about Devall being a starter, stopping the run still reigns supreme in the Saban defense. Sets the edge and is probably the best LB out of the hybrid guys. Doesn't mean the people behind him won't get a ton of PT too.

They might've edited the TEs after the initial posts, as it has both the TE spot and the H-Back spot:

quote:

TE - Dakota Ball
Hale Hentges

TE-H - O.J. Howard / Ty Flournoy-Smith
Michael Nysewander
