I watched the press conference and it seemed pretty clear overall that Bateman is the #3 guy.

FWIW, Reggie Ragland thinks Bateman is going to win the job.

Despite going faster, Bama was ranked 81s in pace last year:

Think we crack the top 50 this upcoming season, or stay in the same general area?

we are pretty deep at D in the front 7 if they stay on the field.

But I hope we Hurry up but dont snap it so fast allowing for mismatches.

let me get this straight? on a sut down show with a group of sec coaches, saban stated that our defense played 170 more plays than the offense last year. basically hinted that they were wore out by years end, because the offense went fast. now some on here are saying our offense is gonna go even faster. smh, ijust dont get it. why would we do this if our defense can not keep up?

The problem we had on offense was this, we would go fast and either go 3 and out in like a minute seconds or go fast and score really fast on big explosive plays. We didnt have alot of long extended drives. Im hoping we can do the no huddle but leave out the hurry up, make long punishing drives with the run game to limit the exposure of defense

I don't think the defense's issues were due to the hurry up at all. The defense shot itself in the foot over and over on 3rd down...many 3rd and long.

If Bamas "3 deep on the d-line" is as good as the majority of our opponents 1's, I can understand why the Bama offense may increase their tempo. With the depth, without a drop of in talent along the front.. Bama dline should remain fresh through out the game.

Speculation and rumor until officially confirmed by the staff.

I seem to remember a few years back our QB was shot and killed during a hunting accident. Glad that was just a rumor.

Edited for more clarity.

I think every deep ball was completed on our DBs. Seems like its been that way for a few years now..

It has been like the "Mike Evans Curse".

I think talent, experience plus quality coaching is going to turn that around this year. I know Saban has made a strong effort in that area.

As miles would say, we will field a damn strong group of defenders and may even incorporate an invisible spy technique.

Anyone care to share what BOL has as our projected starting lineup? It's VIP

I'm not so sure we have any secrets in the lineup at this point other than QB, but it's probably safe to say Coker gets the first rep at this point.

WR will be some combo of Foster/Stewart/Black

The OLB spots could be interesting. Anderson, Devall, and Lee are all vying for starting spots.

Doesn't Saban release a "depth chart" sometime this week? Maybe tomorrow?
