Have to be ignorant to ignore the lack of adjustment of the types of passes we went with once OU started blitzing and pass rushing. Things to get the ball out of AJ's hands faster, rather than standard 5-7 step dropbacks.

He also didn't use the TE position very well, and that's criminal with a position mismatch that Howard brings.

But yeah, the 3 losses, defense did not help very much. But Turnovers (A&M & OU) and FG Kicking (AU) contributed more to losing.

Nuss was fine, and he did some good things at Alabama, but I could definitely see that he and Saban didn't agree on the way the game was being called more than once.

I can't remember which game it was this year, but they interviewed Saban going into the half and he seemed aggravated at the play calls, saying something along the lines of "We've got to start running it more" which was pretty telling for him.

I appreciate the good things he did but I can't say I'm sad to see him gone.

Nothing pissed me off more than the 4th Q of the sugar bowl with about 10 minutes left. Down 2 scores. Pass, Pass, Pass, punt.

Defense gets a stop and then he decides to run the ball. I've said it before, I don't really give a shite about balance and Nuss was married to it. Run what's working, don't try to be balanced for the sake of it.

2012 lsu game we ran at will in the first half and barely at all in the second half. He completely abandoned it.

2012 SECCG he tried to pull the same shite, and i'll be damned if we didn't run it down their throat like we should have done from the beginning.

We ended up winning both of these games but they never even should have been in doubt.

He just never had any reasoning behind his play calls half the time. There was no creativity in the play design, and he was as much of a hindrance as a help. Nuss was able to look a lot better than he was because he had more talent on offense than anyone in the country during his time here.

I don't particularly care who we hire at OC, as long as they mix up our route combinations and are dedicated to sticking to what works, not what looks like an even split of pass/run.

That is such a stupid comment. When you're playing a very good team like Auburn and they have that many guys in the tackle box how in the hell is a dive play going to work? I dont care who you are, you can't run against that.

Just gonna put this out there... Doug Nussmeier helped Alabama get it's first 3000 yard passer in 121 years of college football at the Capstone. But you guys are right. He's the one that threw into triple coverage early against OU. He's the one that continued to fumble all season. No you can't blame the players unless it's the kicker, but god forbid that a coach doesn't get shite on because the players didn't execute.

Pull your heads out of you arse because last time I checked Saban has a head set on as well. And anyone that says: "well Saban trust those guys to make those decisions. He shouldn't have to say anything." Then that is Saban being complacent, and we all know how much he hates complacency.

Now, I thank Nussmeier and everything he has done. He did an great job while he was here. Was he perfect? Of course not, no one is. I hope him the best and a lot of success.

Dude, we're 6th in the SEC in Total Offense with the #1 recruiting class 4 years straight. The dude needed to go and at times was a liability. Period.

I am not saying he was a bad OC, but there is always room for improvement...

Being the Bama OC is the worst coaching position in CFB.

I've never seen one coach, regardless of who it was, take more shite over and over and over. If we run, we should have passed. If we passed, we should have ran.

The loss to A&M in 2012 was 100% his fault.

1st and goal at the 6 and you have Eddie Lacey and one of the best offensive lines in college football history?

Somehow this means pass it 3 times.

Had Saban not veto'ed him in the seconf half of the SEC title game that year we would have lost to Georiga.

He stubbornly stuck to his "gotta be balanced" philosophy, even when the defense was absolutely shutting down what he was calling.

Do what works, adjust to the defense, don't just call your plays without caring what the defense shows you.

He wasn't the worst OC in the world, but in close games it became apparent his play calling was sub par. You never noticed it that much because Alabama didn't play too many close games during his tenure.

I'd rather see yards per play. Pretty skewed stat when the HUNH teams are running twice as many plays per game as us

Maybe Bama can be #2 nationally like BC, they also had 33 attempts compared to Bama's 54.

RZ offense and defense stats are stupid.

Care to explain why?

We had a good deal of explosive plays that went for big yards, but did we do this consistently? I think not.

Teams that had an identity and were CONSISTENT with their offensive game plan.

Any other stats you want to cherry pick?

Well maybe if our RBs weren't trying to lay a hand on my butterfinger we would be able to finish some drives. But your right, that's his fault. To be behind AU, A&M, Mizzu, Georgia, and Ole Miss with the offenses they run and only be in the top half of a conference with 14 teams how dare he. But I guess you didn't want to mention we were 4th in the conference in scoring and 17th in nation. Your right though moving the ball is what matters not scoring. Now only if we can get the NCAA to start awarding the game to who ever has the most yards.

That's fine. I think a lot of stats are misleading. For instance, we had 500 yards of offense against OU but I don't think anyone with any sense was happy with the offense in that game. Its just the efficiency of our offense wasn't where it needed to be under Nuss.
