He is great, no doubt. I think it's a combination of the fumbles and all the elite talent we've had at the position during the Saban era.

1. He's got big shoes to fill, he's coming Ingram, Richardson, and Lacey, who were all incredible, so he doesn't "stand out" as much.
2. He fumbles way more than any of those ever did and he does it at horrible times.

I'm gonna say no. I don't care how many yards and TD's you put up if you fumble in big games and big moments.
A lost fumble is enough bad to cancel out a ton of good.

Yeldon can't be any good, our OL and AJ are too good to know how good Yeldon really is.

Turning the ball over is the single worst non-scoring play that can happen in a football game.
The goal of the game is to win, not for the RB to put up stats. A good RB helps his team win. Not fumbling the ball is just as important to a winning effort as putting up tons of yards.
According to your crazy logic a RB who rushed for 180 yards and had 7 lost fumbles had a great game.

How does a RB fumbling once every 4 games equate a RB fumbling 7 time in one game?
Like I said, Ingram had 2 fumbles in big moments, same as Yeldon, yet you are only arguing that this hurts Yeldon's elite status.
fun fact: Nick Marshall has the most fumbles of any one in the nation so far this year with 10.

I don't think Yeldon should get any hate. He's great, we're just used to the best. He still has another year too.

Trent will always be my favorite player but T.J. is right close behind him. Just when you think the play is over, suddenly he reappears 3,4,5 yards ahead. Amazing guy, and for those of you who think Drake is better - let's just trust our great coaches to make that decision.

As another poster alluded to, the love for Lacy didn't really start until fans became comfortable with Lace re: ball security. It's gonna be the same with Yeldon. When he fixes that, it will take off. But he isn't there yet.

Dude, Lacy fumbled like twice when he was a freshman, and that's it. He didn't get love at first because he was backing up Ingram and Trent. The love for Yeldon is there, as he was a big reason that we won a championship last year. If you can't appreciate him, then that is on you.

there's a big difference between not appreciating someone and giving him as much love as you think he deserves. No, Ingram didn't do the exact same thing. In his entire career until his next-to-last game at Bama, Ingram lost a grand total of one fumble. And yeah, Lacy got plenty of shite from fans on boards about the fumbles until he cleaned his up. Those are just two examples though. His other fumbles haven't been in big games.
