what proof do you have of any staleness with Kirby?

Statements made by Saban and others regarding the defense. One has been mentioned here already, but there have been other times this season -- and last year -- where a comment has been made that just struck me as odd.

That's not saying anyone is doing a bad job, but it's common for people to get stuck in a rut -- especially if the core group tends to see and approach problems in a similar manner. Sometimes you need to shake things up to move forward and get better, i.e. figure out how to slow down uptempo offenses with mobile QBs...which everyone not named Arkansas and LSU seems to be going to.

We've played well. I wouldn't say great, but the bar for great Alabama Ds is set quite high.

It would be best for Kirby to move on. He's been at Alabama for eight years and won more national championships than anyone, but the there a limited time that coordinators are the "hot name" and that time is running short for Kirby. What else can he do as a coordinator? At this point, he risks being the next Bud Foster. That's fine if that's what he wants, but if he wants to be the guy in charge, he probably needs to make the jump.

I could be, but so is everyone else.

Our D problems last night had alot to do with Marshall looking like Dan Marino (like Garcia in 2010).

Cyrus played well last night.
Still, he's not a "lock down" corner.

Not yet. If he continues to improve, he may be next year.

no different than what Amari and our offense would do against their D.

In the past it was always our D vs. someone else's O but now our D is still above average but our O is near the top in the country as well with weapons we have.

I'm gonna have to disagree with your sentiment that Kirby needs to move on and has gotten stale.

Plus, how do you know his time as a hot name is running out? He's still in his early 40s which is young in the head coaching profession. Bama's defenses have been the top of the SEC every year and this year.

You have to give Au credit for making great plays on our defense. It's Saban's system to put the corners one Island man to man and they beat our guy. Some of those plays were fricking awesome plays by Duke and Coates, some were just run past our guy with a great throw. Problem wasn't Kirby it was the Cb, getting beat by a great player. Also we Certainly don't want to tell Saban to move on cause his D has gotten stale. It is his system after all and I doubt he's gonna make drastic changes nor does he need to, the proof is been shown that his system works and is one of the best when the players execute. As it is with most.

I just can't understand how anyone would want Kirby to move on.
