Not really, I have a thread on the SEC Rant that explains, imho, what is going on.

In short.

The committee wants Bama below TCU and Oregon so MSU will have to drop further.

The committee wants Oregon above FSU this week so if MSU loses they will have to drop below an undefeated, 26 game in a row FSU team to at least fourth. Then once they get dropped to AT LEAST fourth the conference championship claim will be used on the final meeting / poll to give TCU/Baylor the fourth spot.

If Bama was third like the metrics say they should be, the committee would be expected to slide MSU to only 3rd place.

These guys are orchestrating this like a game of chess to justify the following weeks polls.

Oregon moves ahead of FSU because of injiries in the offensive line my azz.

They scored 82 or something against someone, therefore they look more impressive than we do. Kind of BS.

SRS (which takes into account point diff and SOS) maybe?

FWIW the computers all rank us at least fourth and you'd be hard pressed to find any objective stat or measurement that has us behind TCU.

If Alabama wins this weekend, it wouldn't surprise me if the committee completely drops State out of top 4 and just bumps Bama to #4.

Plain and simple.

not sure why folks seem to think this is not true ...

It's simple. TCU's loss is a better loss than ours...they lost to a one-loss #7 Baylor, we lost to a two loss #10 Ole Miss. TCU's best win is over a #13 two loss K-State. Our best win is over a #17 three loss LSU. They also have a win over a #25 two loss Minnesota. We have only one win over a ranked team, they have two. I'm not at all buying the notion that we have the #4 ranked SOS.

Here's what people don't seem to get, and I don't understand why: TCU has nothing but three bad teams left. They have nowhere to go but down. Wins over MSU, Auburn, and (probably) Georgia will vault us way past them. That's where our SOS will really get better each week. Hell...we can even pull a Tuberville and win 3-2 tomorrow. It won't matter. We will pass them.

Not only that, if Baylor wins out, they'll probably pass TCU. Baylor has quality opponents left, including K-State. As their SOS gets better, their win over TCU will probably push them past TCU.

I think it's more like they are doing everything possible to keep a 2nd SEC team out of it. It just happens to be Bama at the moment. Although I agree, their reasoning leaves something to be desired.

Are you blind? Or just hoodwinked?

Bamas strenth of schedule ( SOS ) was fourth the first week the SO CALLED POLL came out, but they placed Oregon ahead of Bama, even though Ole Miss was third in the poll that week and Arizona was way down, an Arizona team that beat Texas San Antonio by only five.

A one loss Pac team over a one loss SEC LMAO.

Now TCU jumpec Bama, with the thirty six SOS.

There is your metrics.

Mich. St. ain't crap, and ain't beat nobody.

If we barely beat Miss State we will leap frog TCU. I don't think the score will matter for that. My guess is we would also jump Miss State because of H2H.

Do you have any idea how many different "SOS" rankings there are out there?

bullshite. Ole Miss has two losses. Period. You can play these games all day long, but a one loss team that beat TCU is gonna be ranked over a two loss Ole Miss all day long. Do yourself a favor...look at all the different rankings on ESPN. The committee, sportswriters, coaches...all have Baylor ahead of OM.

We do have our share of fans who think that Bama should be ranked higher just for putting on the crimson jersey...regardless of our performance or any other team's performance. But every top tier team has them also.
