Concerned About FSU?

I haven't seen much discussion at all about FSU on here, which is odd considering it's our first game, and possibly our toughest game of the season.
What concerns you about FSU?
Will it be a nail-biter?
Idk much about them, but I watched their bowl game against Michigan from last year. From what I can tell, Francois is a good - not great QB. Dalvin Cook is their best player, and a total beast. They have big WRs, but they look pretty weak on the oline and dline.
Your take?

Loaded in the secondary. Average linebackers. Elite defensive line one of the best in the country. Underrated wide receivers. Dalvin Cook is gone which is a huge blow but they have depth with Patrick,Rasul, and Cam Akers looks the part. Offensive line was bad last year and there Left tackle entered the draft. Francois is the key the though. He will either win it on lose it. I have it a 31-27 toss up at this point. Will see after fall practice.

Cook is gone, to the NFL Francois is a good QB and a tough customer and they have Akers to take up when Cook left off. Some said he was better than Najee Harris last year. Their Achilles heel is their O-line. They gave up a crap ton of sacks last year and even more QB pressures. Defensively they are pretty good. They worry me a lot. If they were playing 2016 Bama they'd get their asses handed to them but they aren't. Our defensive losses really concern me as we always seem to have a hiccup or two with new starters settling into their rolls. FSU is deadly enough at all the skill positions to make those miscues count and they could hurt us. I don't expect this game to be the cakewalk recent openers have been. We're going to have to work for this one.

I feel ya, but we're playing FSU, not Clemson with DWatson.
It could be a tough, close game, but we could also run away with it.
Francois doesn't scare me at QB.
Their oline is weak, their receivers are standard SEC level guys.
The only time we lose is when we get beat by an elite offense, and I don't think fsu has it.
On defense, they're supposedly good, but I doubt they'll be as good as a typical LSU defense.
On the other hand, we're loaded on offense - esp at receiver. Imo Jalen > Francois
Our defense will be beast-mode as usual.
I think it will be tough, but I think it might be another 1st game that's overhyped

I haven't even let myself begin to worry about FSU, but now I read your post and I'm worrying.

Definitely not going to be a cake walk, but their offensive line was horrendous last year, so that gives me some more faith. I'm hoping we take advantage of Trey Marshall being out for the first half.

This will be Bama's toughest opener under CNS; FSU went toe-to-toe with Clemson last year, and Francois is tough as nails. Bama will need to play very well to win. It may help that FSU will not know exactly how to game-plan for Bama's new offense, but everyone knows it begins and ends with Hurts.
Bama wins 31 - 27

Their defense is elite. Our easiest path to victory will be to dominate their offensive line and win the game on defense.

Bama's D line should destroy the FSU O line. I think Bama's loaded secondary will be up to the task.
On offense, just pound the rock and use the running game to open up the pass game. Give Bo 5-7 carries in the first half, run the rest of the backs mainly until midway through the 3rd quarter. Unleash Bo the rest of the game and FSU's tired D will have no chance to stop him.
I will say Bama wins 34-17.

Nothing to be concerned with.

In speed and agility. Will he have the offense down, the blocking first game of the season to be an every down back. Thats a big question.

They have studs all over the field and a solid head coach. They'll give us all we want. I wouldn't say "concerned", but we could definitely lose.
I will say that Francois of last year plus a sub-average OL will be very hardpressed to beat us. Now, he could have improved a bit (like Hurts might), but their weaknesses/strengths are not good matchups against us. If you have a bad offensive line you better have Deshaun Watson behind you and a quick, spread passing game or you are going to crumble against us.

Jimbo Fisher is a top five coach in college football. Excellent recruiter and has really overcame his in game stubbornness the last several years. He is loyal to a fault though. He's got a few assistant coaches that should be run out of town but he won't do it.

FSU is a good team, but their weakness being their O-line doesn't bode well for them. Our defensive line will probably be the best in the country and, with our also-best-in-the-country linebackers, will eat up FSU.
Francy will make some plays no doubt, but I don't think he can do enough. Akers won't gave quite a Fournette v Bama game, as FSU has some balance, but I doubt he does well. You know we've scouted him hard during recruitment and know his strength and weaknesses. He better be ready to block if FSU us gonna keep up with us.
Most importantly though, Saban dominates opening games and I expect this to be no different.

Yea, I think that we will control their offense. They have a history of being slowed by very good defensive fronts.
2015
Boston College : 14 pts
Clemson : 13 pts
Florida : 27 pts (dam broke late after UF did nothing on offense the entire game)
2016
Miami : 20 pts
Clemson : 34 pts (wild game)
NC State : 24 pts
Florida : 31 pts
Michigan : 33 pts
I don't think we'll totally shut them down, they have what will be an improved and good QB, great RBs and great WRs. But their scheme and OL will hold them down.

Didn't FSU struggle a good bit last year with DT QB's? Jimbo is obviously a good HC, but it's hard for me to think he's as good of a HC as the media hypes him up to me. Not trying to demean his accomplishments, but how soon people forget the infamous 43-point beating against Louisville last year. Different team; different year though. FSU will likely play up to the competition presented to them week 1.
