This is by far our toughest block-buster opener since Saban arrived. This could legit be the top 2 teams in college football in 2017. I sort of have a bad feeling about it. FSU has a legit D and a good, mobile QB with good skill players. Sounds like the formula that has given us trouble the last few years.

The key for us is going to be to control the game on offense. We need to keep our defense fresh. We can't have another deal where our defense is on the field 90-100 plays. If we can ground and pound, run cluck, JK Scott keeps them backed up...we can win a 24-17 type game. If it turns into a shoot-out--that's bad news for us. This is a 50/50 type game IMO. Could even be a rematch in the playoffs.

I think we blow them out. They can't hold up in the trenches on either side. Their offensive line in particular will really struggle. Saban always spanks his former assistants.

Duel threat QB who looks to be really improving on his deep pass.

Huge WR talent.

Probably the best group of RBs in league.

Another top notch OL.

pretty good group of TEs.

Yea im not seeing how that would be so bad for us, especially if our defense is a tad better overall.

Not to mention an OC who likes to grind it out on the ground, throw to the tight end, and throw it up deep to our WRs and let them go and get it

This will be key, and remains to be seen. If our RT situation doesn't get better, Hurts won't have time to throw it deep anyway.

Their defense is elite.

Then they must've improved from last year. They gave up 60+ points and over 500 yards to Louisville last year...and they were #22 in total defense...they were good but wouldn't call 'em elite, at least not based on last year...

That being said, FSU is capable of beating us...

Well, our D last year was arguably one of the better defenses we've ever fielded, but if you look at the Clemson or OM game stats, you wouldn't know it.

With these fast-track offenses--even great D's are gonna have some bad days. FSU's D will be as good as anything we see in the SEC. The only potential weakness is LB. They are stout on the DL and secondary. Our offense will have their hands full and will need to control the LOS to keep our D fresh or this will be an L for us I'm afraid.

If our passing game isn't significantly better, then yeah, I'm very concerned.
