He's solid as a TE, but he looks really good on the defensive side. He was popping folks and then helping em up.

He looks very good on defense.
He won't be a 3-star TE for long.

TS what does the potential look like for LA and TX recruits this class?

'18 AL DE Malik Langham is getting a lot of love the last few weeks, offers from UGA, Ole Miss, and Vandy.
He's coming to the next Junior Day, so an offer could be on the way...

They are all Kansas bound IMO.
Seriously though, I have barely even started watching film on this class and have mainly just focused on kids with an Alabama offer or from the state of Alabama.
However, a quick glance at the state rankings for Louisiana shows ten 4-star and two 5-star prospects. For reference the state had zero Composite 5-stars last year and twelve 4-stars. Now it's early so those numbers will most likely fluctuate, but it seems to be on par with last year.
Texas had 48 combined 4 and 5-star players last year. Texas has 41 right now. Does that mean it's a down year? I honestly don't know.

Reports: OL Jake Fruhmorgen transferring from Clemson
quote:
For the first time since claiming the national championship, Clemson has seen a player abandon the winning ship.
While the football program has yet to confirm it, TigerNet.com is reporting that Jake Fruhmorgen has decided to transfer from Dabo Swinney‘s team and continue his collegiate playing career elsewhere. 247Sports.com subsequently confirmed the departure with the player’s father.
No reason was given for the departure, although the offensive lineman had been dealing with personal issues for months and didn’t play in a game after suffering a shoulder injury in late October. While the injury kept him out of a couple of games, he missed the latter quarter of the regular season, as well as the postseason, dealing with the unspecified issues that kept him away from the team.
Prior to all of that, the true sophomore had started the first eight games of the 2016 season at right tackle.
According to TigerNet, Florida and Michigan are potential landing spots. Regardless of where he ends up, Fruhmorgen would more than likely have to sit out the 2017 season if he ends up at another FBS school.
A four-star 2015 signee, Fruhmorgen was rated by 247Sports.com as the No. 8 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 20 player at any position in the state of Florida. As a true freshman, the 6-5, 290-pound lineman played in 11 games, starting one of those contests.

Report: LSU to host Clemson transfer Jake Fruhmorgen for unofficial visit
quote:
LSU is considering a national championship-winning offensive lineman for a potential transfer.
According to a report from 247Sports‘ Shea Dixon, former Clemson offensive tackle Jake Fruhmorgen will be in Baton Rouge for an unofficial visit with the LSU coaching staff. The visit could begin as soon as Monday and last multiple days, Dixon reports.
Fruhmorgen is exploring transfer destinations after receiving his release from the Clemson program following a national championship victory against Alabama last month.
Fruhmorgen started the first eight games of the national title run for the Tigers as a sophomore before a shoulder injury. He also played in 11 games as a freshman during the 2015 season.
Fruhmorgen former 4-star recruit from Tampa, Fruhmorgen was considered the No. 8 offensive tackle prospect in the 2015 signing class, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

Tide continue to prioritize elite Louisiana prospects
Alabama has made it a mission to nab as many elite prospects from the state of Louisiana. In the Crimson Tide’s 2017 class, Alabama was able to land six prospects from the state — just two less than the number of players it landed from its own state.
Recruiting Louisiana is always going to be a priority to Alabama because the Bayou State always cranks out elite talent. Near the top of the Tide’s wish list in the 2018 class is 5-star LSU cornerback commit Kelvin Joseph from Scotlandville Magnet High School (Baton Rouge, La.).
Joseph has visited Tuscaloosa numerous times, and it looked like over the summer he was going to flip his commitment to Alabama.
“I was close,” Joseph told SEC Country in an interview in January. “I mean, I’m still looking into Alabama. They are right there with LSU. Going down there to Tuscaloosa was great. The coaches treated me well. I like it a lot. They treat me like family.”
The nation’s No. 4 cornerback and No. 2 overall prospect from Louisiana in the 2018 class said he decided to not flip his commitment because “it really wasn’t going to change anything.” Joseph said because there’s still so much time to go until National Signing Day, de-committing or flipping is kind of pointless because so much can change until next February.
He did say that Alabama is his No. 2 school and Texas A&M is in the No. 3 spot. One of the reasons why the Tide are in good position for a flip down the road is because of Tide defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley, who communicates with Joseph every week.
“Every week, he’s texting me, saying he has to have me at Alabama,” Joseph said of Ansley.
The 2018 Under Armour All-American is expected to return to Tuscaloosa this spring and summer where he’ll receive lots of attention from coach Nick Saban. Joseph has already liked the coaching he’s received from the camps he’s attended in Tuscaloosa.
“They produce a lot of good defensive backs and Nick Saban is a great head coach,” Joseph said. “He coaches hands-on, and I like that a lot.”
Cornerback is a big priority for Alabama in the Class of 2018 because the team didn’t sign any in 2017, so expect the Crimson Tide to do what it takes to flip the Tigers commit in the months ahead.

Tide in early on 2019 LSU commit
Derek Stingley Jr. only has two offers: Alabama and LSU. Expect that list to grow over the next two years.
Stingley, a 2019 4-star cornerback from The Dunham School (Baton Rouge, La.), picked up his offer from the Crimson Tide a little over a week ago when he attended Alabama’s underclassman event.
Like Joseph, Stingley is committed to LSU, too. But unlike Joseph, Stingley isn’t as open to a flip to Alabama at this point in his recruitment.
“It was pretty big (to get the Alabama offer), but it doesn’t really change anything with me and LSU right now,” Stingley told SEC Country LSU recruiting writer Sam Spiegelman over the weekend. “I’m still with LSU and I’m still committed.”
There’s still plenty of time to put a dent in his commitment to the Tigers. With an early offer out to Stingley, Alabama will likely be in the picture for him when 2019 signing day rolls around.
