I've wondered that myself. Losing Bo might be even worse for us, though. OM has been very confident before he visited us. If you put a gun to my head, I'd have to bet he'd go there, but my recruiting and assistant coaching guesses lately would give me a pretty low batting average. So there's that.

Incidentally, our new apparent DL coach hire is a grand slam on-the-field hire. Long time NFL DL coach (Vikings, Jets, Bills) Karl Dunbar. Also, he's from Louisiana with lots of connections there. Should be a great hire and maybe even an upgrade. Not sure who will take over recruiting in MS.

Coached under Saban at LSU in 2001-2002. Was Miles' DL coach there in 2005.

The last NFL coach Saban hired worked out pretty good.

Dunbar oversaw the "Sons of Anarchy" in New York. Moose WilkerSON, Sheldon RichardSON, and Damon "Snacks" HarriSON.

The latter was a great coaching job, took an undrafted FA and made him arguably the best NG in the NFL.

Rex fired him in Buffalo because he needed a scapegoat because his defense sucked with all that talent.

Greg Biggins from Scout tweeted that he thinks Alabama for Tua.

Some rumors that his family may move to Mobile. I think we could hook his dad up with a job.

I love the direction we've gone in with QBs. He'll be an excellent addition.

With the Tide’s heavy push and need at the position in the recruiting cycle, and distance not playing a factor in his recruitment, BOL expects Tagovailoa to commit to Nick Saban and staff on Monday evening.

Not really recruiting but Tim Watts posted this about Tim Williams:
quote:

I spoke to an NFL front office guy this morning and Tim Williams is expected to be one of the hottest names in next years draft. He was of the opinion that based on last season and the spring game he would have went 1st round in this last draft and next year will receive buzz in the top 10. Especially playing as an every down player.

Not only top 10 but he said if has a strong season as expected, tests as well as he thinks he will and with the lack of true pass rushers in this last draft its possible he will be the No. 1 overall player chosen

If that happened and LSU expecting 9 1st rounders, their heads would explode.

Louisiana kids are one of two things, if LSU fans want them and they leave; overrated or character flaws.

I wonder what the size difference between Tim Williams and Von Miller is? Tim will need to get good against the run and bulk up a little to be compared to Miller. Miller went 2nd overall

We have the #6 ranked class at the moment.

Landing Tua would vault us to #3.

We also have the least amount of commitments from any team ranked in the Top 10.

We have 8 commits, #1 Ohio State has 13.
