Quarterback Cameron Rising (Newbury Park, Calif.) said Alabama offered.
It's his 15th verbal offer.
The four-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 7 pro-style quarterback and the No. 23 prospect in California in the 2018 class by 247Sports.com Composite Rankings.
Rising has high interest in Arizona State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Alabama and UNC.
As a sophomore, Rising hit on 191-0f-319 passes for 3,213 yards with 40 touchdowns and one interception in 10 games.
He also rushed 79 times for 756 yards with 11 scores.
Alabama quarterbacks coach Lane Kiffin made the verbal offer.
Alabama has a tie in this situation as Newbury Park offensive line coachJoe Smigiel worked as a Graduate Assistant with Kiffin at Fresno State in the late 90s.
It's a rapport Smigiel refers to as 'borderline great.'
Rising plans to camp at several schools this summer including LSU, Miami, Alabama, Michigan and UNC.
The Crystal Ball reads 50-percent for Miami and 50-percent for Washington State.

Seems like other QBs have been offered last few days. Thought maybe this meant we didn't like our chances with Tua???

Did Robertson commit to Cal ? I hope he did
Posted on 5/1/16 at 12:22 pm to Cobrasize
He did.......but.......he can treat this like a verbal. Without an LOI, he can still decide to change his mind and go somewhere else. As long as he doesn't sign any scholarship papers.
Posted on 5/1/16 at 12:26 pm to We_R_The_Tide
Is he not planning on signing anytime soon? I would think he is running out of time.

Five star WR former Bama commit goes to Cal. Why does that sound familiar?
Better Cal than UGA though

No. 2 WR in Alabama and Scout 4-star Henry Ruggs planning summer commitment
quote:
One of the top overall prospects in Alabama, the end of Henry Ruggs' recruitment may soon be near. The college recruitment of Montgomery (Ala.) Lee star Henry Ruggs has been one of the most interesting in the state of Alabama. The basketball player who got back on the football field as a junior for the first time in high school had a banner year and picked up a bevy of offers in the time since.
But before he steps on the field for the Generals as a senior, he will be a committed prospect. The four-star wide receiver projection visited Alabama on Saturday, following recent trips to Auburn, Florida and Florida State.
"I'm not ready to make a decision yet," he said. "Summer will be when I make my decision. It's my time frame because I want to focus on my senior season and not recruiting."

I wonder how the Ole Miss NCAA situation will effect the JC DL that is committing this week. I think it was a Bama/Ole Miss battle.
