It'll be interesting to see how Jennings and Perry pan out at Safety. Neither seems like an instant impact kind of guy but they might be multi-year contributors like Jarrick Williams and Nick Perry.

I think Jennings is too big for the position already at 220 pounds. He could be up to 240 by the time he is a Redshirt Freshman. He's athletic enough to play QB so he has to have some potential as an H-back.

The black Brad Smelley perhaps?

Bleacher Report Video Re-ranking the Class of 2011

I can't watch the video at work. Who did they rank as the Top 5?

They cited OBJ and Landry for LSU. For some teams they seemed to cite college performance; for others it was NFL draft picks. Not very consistent.

Br sucks frequently. That being said, we did have a ton of attrition from that class.of that signing class the following people left the program in one way or another without significant playing time or never made it on campus
dee hart
marvin shinn
brent calloway
danny woodson jr
malcolm faciane
lamichael fanning
aaron douglas
ronald carswell
philip ely
duron carter
cory grant

We only had one first rounder from that class, haha. Cyrus and depriest ended up being somewhat disappointing

Yeah I'm ok with them leaving us out of the top 5. The '11 class wasn't horrible by any means but isn't top 5 worthy either.

I think Corey Grant was '10

247 is wrong. Could be because 247 was just starting up back then. Grant was definitely '10 class

I think that's good. We need guys who come in and can learn the defense. I think that's when we are at our best.

From a poster on the LSUrb:

quote:

Raekwon is a good dude and doesn't like to disappoint people.

He may like LSU, but I'd be stunned if he doesn't end up at Bama. He has three teammates that I think all end up at State, but I believe Raekwon wants to be at Bama.

He sounded like he might have some info. Their other insider is saying that Raekwon is very flippable. Battle of insiders.

Florida State lost five-star tight end commitment Isaac Nauta of Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy on Tuesday. By Wednesday, they are in the thick of it with a replacement option.Even with Nauta committed, tight end coach Tim Brewster maintained regular contact with Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Institute four-star tight end Naseir Upshur. The two have amped up communication since yesterday's news broke on Nauta.

"Every hour," Upshur said of his communication with Brewster over the past 24 hours. "I've been talking to him though even when Isaac was committed . He told me last year that he only wanted me and Issac. I was high on them with a tight end committed or not," Upshur said with a laugh.

Now Upshur will get his first look at FSU. He was going to wait until October to take an official visit to FSU, when the Seminoles host Miami. But with the recent change in FSU's situation at the position, Upshur can't wait that long. He will make his way to Tallahassee on Wednesday along with his father and brothers.

Rashan Gary won't visit Michigan again for their BBQ. Next visit will likely be his OV there.

quote:

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic defensive lineman Rashan Gary has already visited Michigan twice unofficially, the most recent of which came last month. He’d hoped to make a third trip to the Great Lake State for the Barbecue, but The Michigan Insider learned today that the odds of that happening took a major hit.
Gary’s mother indicated recently that she’d allow her son to take the trip only if his weekend ACT prep session could be rescheduled. That hurdle seems to have been cleared, but another one appeared shortly thereafter.
"Doesn't look like (he'll make the trip),” Gary’s mother Jennifer Coney said. “The group he was supposed to travel with isn't going. Just found out yesterday."

Ryan Bartow talks with Nebraska radio on Jordan Stevenson: LINK

Tidbits:
When he first found out he wasn't going to make it, he was interested in FSU, Arizona St, and Nebraska.
Plans to visit Alabama are still up in the air.
Goal was to enroll by Friday. May or may not happen.
He's filled out all the paperwork for both Nebraska and Miami while on campus.
He wants to come in and play right away. (Bartow mentioned that our depth chart is a hinderance to him)
