Chatta started a thread on the Rant regarding Coop having more receptions than the entire LSU team. Naturally they got mad and started a dozen response threads.

Keith Mixon is very happy with Mississippi State.

The Shades Valley star committed to Mississippi State on July 18 and has zero regrets. He likes the school, likes the coaching staff and is very excited to play with a few Birmingham area friends like Minor defensive back Maurice Smitherman and Pinson Valley running back Nick Gibson.

But Mixon, who is ranked No. 11 on AL.com's A-List, has seen the Internet speculation and message board rumors that an Alabama offer could be coming his way. The 5-foot-8, 175-pound athlete heard rumors that if Alabama misses on a wide receiver committed to Georgia -- likely Terry Godwin -- that he could be next in line to get a scholarship offer.

He's also seen the message board speculation that if he gets an Alabama offer, he'll flip his commitment to the Crimson Tide. He can't control what fans will post anonymously on the Internet, though he hates the idea of Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen thinking he could de-commit in the near future.

He's insistent that he's happy with the Bulldogs and has no intention of changing his decision, but he wants that Alabama offer. He grew up as an Alabama fan and landing an offer from the in-state SEC power has long been a goal of his.

"I've heard a lot of people say I'm too small to go to Alabama, or too slow," Mixon says. "I just want to prove people wrong."

Alabama hasn't offered Mixon, but the school has actively recruited him for a long time. The school has also heavily recruited Mixon's teammate, Daron Payne, who has narrowed his list to Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State and Texas. The two Shades Valley stars attended Alabama's game against Florida Atlantic last Saturday and got a chance to catch up with Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal and wide receivers coach Billy Napier. The coaches have told Mixon he's high up on their recruiting board.

"They look at me like a Christion Jones, Marquis Maze kind of guy," he says. "They talked about my stats and they were impressed. Hopefully they do offer. If they don't, I'll just go to Mississippi State. I'm satisfied with Mississippi State; I really like Mississippi State."

Mixon's stats to start his senior season have certainly generated interest. He has eight touchdowns through three games and more than a few highlight plays, including a 68-yard touchdown catch to defeat Florence in the season opener. Every time he steps on the field, he plays like he has something to prove.

Until he gets that Alabama offer, he does.

"I always play with a chip on my shoulder," Mixon says. "Last year, no one knew about me. I felt like I was getting overlooked. I just play hard every game because I know I can be a good player."

If you have no intention of flipping then why does an offer from Alabama even matter, regardless of whether you grew up a fan or not. I don't buy most these quotes. It's east to say that when an Alabama offer isn't on the table.

What's his 40 time? I've seen him play, and he didn't look slow at all.

Rumors on the Pitt board that Robert Foster is not happy about his slide down the depth chart and may look to transfer in the spring if it doesn't change. This is from a mod, and the source is close to his family. TIFWIW.

You can't blame him for wanting more playing time, however the only person he should be unhappy with
is himself.

It happens on a roster full of 4 and 5 stars. Either work harder than everyone else, be better at something than everyone else, just wait your turn, or GTFO. My humble opinion at least.

His downward slide in recent weeks has been one of the biggest surprises of the year IMO. The week of the WV game he was listed as White's back-up. When White went down, instead of Foster we saw Stewart, Black, and even some Sims. How do you get passed by 3 players in such a short period of time? Must be an attitude or practice habits thing IMO. At any rate, hope he realizes we're losing 3 starting WRs after this year.

I hope we keep him but as long as we bring in Ridley I'm not worried either way

That far away from home. Five star status may have went to his head a little. Then a redshirt his first year. Getting frustrated with not having immediate success has been the downfall of many talented players at Alabama before him. It all adds up. But I hope he sticks it out and doesn't risk losing another year for the easy route.
