Given the choice I think most people would want Godwin ahead of Goff

So Pierce is out. Probably means that Goff or Godwin is the guy

Same here. I don't think that Goff would be a terrible hire though. I found this interesting. Godwin just tweeted this

Just trying to be positive here, but Goff won 40+ games, three consecutive seasons at Campbell (2012-2014). The two years since he left they have gone 32-25 in 2015 and 26-27 this past season. Maybe Goff was the difference there and not weaker opponents?
And La Tech hadn't had a winning season since 2011, prior to Goff arriving. I was more excited about Godwin or Pierce or anyone initially. But after a closer look, it would seem there is some potential there.

When we fired Gaspard, I expected the hire to be better than this.

I'm not at all disappointed if this is the hire. I'm actually quite excited to see what he can do.

I agree. The more I read about this guy the more impressed I am with him. Many different baseball writers have called him a rising star. He turned around Campbell an La Tech and I think he will be successful at Alabama

It's disappointing that we couldn't pull a coach from ECU, however Goff is a good hire. Yes he's probably #3 or 4 on everyone's list but I am happy with that. Better than settling for an assistant coach.

ECU is Godwin's alma mater. He got to a super regional in year two. Not surprising he wanted to stay. Disappointing. But not surprising.

According to this article, Goff hasn't been offered the job yet.

Not surprising. They won't make him a formal offer until they are at least relatively sure he will accept. They are discussing terms probably with his agent. Once they get close the offer will come and they will wrap it up pretty quickly. At least that's how it should work. Otherwise he says no, we are embarrassed and have to start over

"Insider" on BOL is saying Battle low balled Pierce even though he was given the greenlight to offer a bigger amount.
