Any others out there?

One thing potentially working against us is Augie Garrido stepping down from Texas today as well. Texas has the baseball history and money to get whoever they want.

Guys. I have very very good intel on what Texas and Alabama will do. Just let us get through committee stuff, and I’ll write on that.

Texas will swing for Jim Schlossnagle first.

We should go for McDonnell to hear no, and then Magadan, Dunn, and Melendez.

Dan McDonnell would be a home run hire. (Pun intended)

Dan McConnell - Louisville Head Coach

I want him or someone else with a record like his. I think he could turn it around and do it quickly.

I would go after Tony Robichaux from ULL. Dynamite coach.

Guy who fancies himself an "insider" on BOL is saying McDonnell will probably be the top candidate. TIFWIW.

McDonnell has been my ideal candidate for a couple of years. Would be a lot easier if Lousiville wasn't in the ACC now.

I want either McDonnell or Melendez.

Both are relatively young. Both have head coaching experience.

Dan Heefner at Dallas Baptist would be an excellent hire. Casey Dunn's name will probably come up too.

Ultimately, I still want a HC who can develop good pitching like Gaspard did, but we need better hitting to go with it. Play small ball if you have to, just need a better OB% and earned runs. Pretty much the opposite of what Andy Philips tried to do.

Gilmore has been there 20 years and it's his alma mater.

Casey Dunn has done well at Samford, but is still a barner.

Don't care if he's a barner, or a vile. If the guy can coach and get Bama to Omaha, I'm all for it.

Can you imagine what it would be like having a great baseball team to compliment the softball team?

And if he was hired and did well, you're always going to worry that Auburn tries to bring him home.
