Awesome day at The Joe. Great turnout and a beautiful day. Bama splits the two scrimmages with FSU. Lots of work still to do but also lots of potential with this team.

Crimson Tide Battles with Florida State in Baseball's Final Exhibition of Fall

The Crimson Tide and Seminoles met for a pair of six-inning affairs on Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball paired with Florida State for a competitive exhibition on Saturday at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Ben Hess got the start in game one while Riley Quick took the mound for the start after the midpoint break. The Tide's arms accumulated 16 strikeouts while allowing four earned runs across 12.0 innings of work. Aidan Moza highlighted the pitching effort, striking out two in his frame of work to close out the first half of the day.

The offense was powered once again by the long ball. Evan Sleight and Camden Hayslip each hammered solo shots while Bryce Eblin recorded a three-run homer deep into the Right Field Terrace. Eblin led the Tide in RBI while Sleight paced UA in runs with two.

Alabama will break on Sunday and then return to the diamond for a final stretch of work. The Crimson Tide will practice next week before taking part in a World Series to cap the fall schedule.

Head Coach Rob Vaughn
Thoughts on the day:
"These fall exhibitions showed us what we're capable of doing, especially after playing really good teams like Auburn and Florida State. It also showed us what we have got to get better at and that's the point of these. You want to play these teams that help you to see where you have got to grow, and I think this group's got a high upside, they've got a lot of confidence in what they're doing. They also have a good awareness of what we have to get better at, and that's what we'll work on between now and February."

Camden Hayslip

Pretty awesome to see the new staff come in and his light switch flip on. He's uber talented. If he gets it all figured out he has All-American/top 3 round pick type tools.

Crimson Clinches Fall World Series with Thrilling 8-6 Victory

The Crimson squad turned a 4-6-3 double play to get out of a bases-loaded jam in the final half inning for the series-clinching win

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The finale of Alabama baseball's Fall World Series came down to the wire on Wednesday with the Crimson team claiming an 8-6 win at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Crimson jumped out front to an early 6-0 lead after the first, highlighted by a three-run homer from Camden Hayslip, and added one more in the third for a 7-0 advantage after three innings of play. Gray got on the board in the top of the fourth with a three-spot before Crimson answered with one in the fifth to make it an 8-3 ballgame after five full.

Gray continued to chip away, plating three in the top of the sixth to make it an 8-6 affair headed to the seventh. In the top of that final frame, Gray was able to load the bases with one down, but a 4-6-3 double play ended things and helped Crimson clinch the Fall World Series title.

Sam Mitchell got the start for Crimson, tossing 3.2 scoreless innings with one punchout for the win. Coulson Buchanan then entered on the back end to record the final three outs for the save. Pierce George was solid for Gray, working 2.2 relief frames with one run allowed and a game-high four strikeouts.

The Crimson offense was powered by Hayslip's three-run homer. Joey Rubin was next in line with two RBI while Hayslip and Justin Lebron tied for the team lead in runs with two apiece.

Wednesday's action was the final workout of the fall schedule for Alabama. The Crimson Tide will now break until January when full-team practice resumes.
