Jalen is not a 'good' QB. He is average. Tua is just better and beat him out. Just like Jalen beat out Blake Barnett. So, knowing those things what is the issue? The better QB is playing in both of those scenarios.

I don't really understand how anybody thinks Jalen is coming back to Alabama next season.

I was surprised he stayed this year. No way he's coming back to sit on the bench in his final year.

In order for him to transfer, he will have to come to the decision that there is a program he can go to that will help him get to the NFL. Otherwise, he stays.

In order for him to get to the NFL, he will have to go somewhere where he would start in a pro-style passing offense, with a solid OL to protect him and solid WRs he can throw to, and receive the coaching he needs to continue to develop as a passer.

In other words, transferring to an Auburn, for example, won't do a damn thing to help him get to the NFL.

What head coach who runs a pro style passing attack is going to turn his offense over to a guy who is basically going to be a project? What coach in that situation (a) needs a QB, and (b) will turn the offense over to a project?

Going somewhere else as a "dual threat" QB doesn't help Jalen get to the NFL...not in the least. He probably knows that, and I'm sure our staff will tell him that.

When you look at it in those terms, Jalen coming back makes a lot of sense.

I don't think he's going to look at it in those terms. I think he believes he's a good QB and will want to start and play his final year.

I think the outcome could have been very different after seeing how much better he has been under Coach Enos. He has much better pocket presence, makes checkdowns, doesn't try to tuck and run after 2 seconds.

Had Enos been here last year and Jalen made the same improvements, it is likely that we beat Auburn, and he doesn't get pulled against UGA. What a difference a great coach and a year makes. It may have been Tua transferring out and people saying Tua had the problem. Jalen will never be the qb Tua is, but he is one heck of a playmaker and if I had to pick any qb to back up Tua, I would go with Jalen.

Dude sounds bitter.

Too bad, Jalen has shown a lot of class.
