Nike EYBL has been subpoenaed by the FBI. Looks like they aren't done.
Luckily, if this thing blows up the NCAA won't punish everyone. People aren't going to watch a #1 seed Colgate vs #2 seed Bucknell NCAA Championship with no future NBA players playing all year due to ineligibility

The NCAA is standing there with a sheepish grin on their face. They have known this is been going on for years but they haven’t been able to stop it. And the NCAA tournament if their biggest money maker. So what are they going to do cut off their nose to spite their face, I don’t think so.
They are caught between a rock and a hard place. They don’t know what to do to clear up the situation. I don’t think anybody does.

We all should be. And Coach Avery was good at working the AAU circuit. You can’t be mad or blame him if there’s skeletons in his closet. It’s the way the whole industry has operated for years. What are you supposed to do? Stay clean and recruit a bunch of low 2 stars and get fired in 3 years everywhere you go? The onus was on the NCAA to clean this shite up.
What will happen is things will get real quiet and clean for a year or two. Then the methods will change and things will be done differently and we will have more of the same old stuff.

I would be shocked if any Power5 or high level MidMajor team is innocent.

How do y'all see this playing out for Wiley and Herron? Will the NCAA make them ineligible for the upcoming season?
So one player (player 1) is 99% sure is not Wiley and eitehr Danjel Purifoy or Mustapha Heron.
Not quite 99% sure Wiley is caught up. Person brags in the initial meeting about Wiley coming in January, but the FBI ccomplaint doesn't connect him to either player / description not enough to do so either
Not sure why someone would want to sign any other player on AUburn's roster so it is probably like 90% Wiley. Just not as for sure as Mustapha Heron

What's going to be interesting is when the money trail leads back to people in high positions of the NCAA. You know that shoe money has reached the right people to ignore a lot of shenanigans.

Just saw this, too.
I take it this isn't just about the game in Hunstville

Kobie Baker is out. Hopefully he wasn't funneling money since the release said no violations yet.
Posted on 9/27/17 at 6:42 pm to East Coast Band
And the dumbass used to work for the NCAA. That's what makes it worse.

It says no violations.. if this is somehow the only thing that happens to us in all of this, then we escaped very much alive
... but I'm still scared.

What exactly is the role of basketball administrator? And why would he have anything to do with this ongoing FBI nationwide investigation?
Posted on 9/27/17 at 6:48 pm to East Coast Band
Man if this is the only thing that happens to us I will consider it a win.

I think he was director of basketball ops? I'm not 100% sure.

This is what worries me. What did Baker do if there were no rule violations? If it were something minor they would have reported it. Seems suspicious.

I knew us having a good basketball team was too good to be true and that something would come out of left field and frick it up.

This is a possible explanation:
I was told Kobie Baker's wife works for an agent. Maybe Avery decided it was best to move on from Kobie bc he didn't want his team/staff associated with any agents. That would explain why he resigned and why there were no rules violations.
Also, no FBI investigation was announced like with these other schools. So we're good for now

If we have any skeletons, im 95% sure petty arse Simon would rat us out. The fact that that hasnt happened yet eases me a little.
