I don't see why Nike would even get involved in this. They have Jordan Brand, KD and Lebron. They have the market cornered for the most part when it comes to basketball.

I honestly don't see why ANY legitimate company would be involved, but here we are......

Adidas is trying to gain ground in the basketball shoe game badly. All the top stars are accounted for so they are trying to get ahead of the curve and get the potential stars of the future. They have Harden, but still.

EJ Montgomery decommitted from Auburn

This doesn't necessarily mean anything, but I think it's worth noting that EJ played on the Adidas summer circuit.

His sister still goes to AU, so him recommitting is possible.

Just started analyzing Simon's Twitter. That guy is at a straight high school level of petty. Seems like everything he tweets is related to us.

I wouldn't worry too much about Simon though. Simon, or any aspiring coach really, would be alienated by college basketball if the snitching were traced back to him.

Something to keep an eye on

Greg Bryne at Zona oversaw Sean Miller + Zona staff who are implicated.
I'm guess he dodges a bullet and thanks his lucky stars he left for Bama when he did

Rick Pitino and the Louisville AD were just fired

According to sources, Tom Jurich was asked to fire Rick Pitino, refused, both were fired

If Jurich could keep his job by firing Pitino, guy is an idiot to not do it.

But as was posted on the Rant, this was the straw that broke the camel’s back on Pitino.

Interesting side note: there was a clause in Petrino’s contract, as in Bobby, the football coach, that if Jurich was fired, Bobby’s buyout drops by half.

That's why Jurich/Pitino got canned so quickly. If this investigation expands/shows systemic compliance issues at Zona/Auburn/OkieSt etc, that is an AD problem.

Doubt Bryne has any serious concerns but likely in the back of his mind. Maybe Zona gets petty and tries to throw dirt his way if it blows up, but even then what does Bama care?

UL seems to like Petrino, and Bobby P seems to be running a clean enough ship to stay out of trouble. No reason for UL to want him out

As for Bobby P wanting out, don't know that he could improve his situation. Doesn't really make sense for him to leave

I doesn't make sense for him to leave, but I hope for his sake he knows his leash just got REALLY short.

I don’t know if the feeling is still mutual but don’t forget that the PTB at Auburn got a woody thinking about Bobby P as head coach before. If the Gus Bus ends up in a ditch, there will be some push to go after him again and it just got a lot cheaper to do so.

Anfernee Simmons (top 15) and Courtney Ramey (top 50) both decommited from Louisville. We never recruited those guys, but it'll be interesting to see if anyone transfers from there too.

Here is a good article by a criminal defense attorney. He talks about the charges and what it could mean for Auburn
