Hopefully Grant will use Kansas's guard commit to show that Barber isn't their top guy for PG.

Still think Duke is the team to beat if they offer. He might be trying to persuade Duke to go ahead and offer. I really don't understand why they haven't offered though. He is the clear-cut best PG that is interested in Duke, and is a position they don't really have for this coming year's team. Quinn Cook may play PG, but forces way too many shots to be a good PG. Any guesses as to why they haven't offered?

No idea. They may just be slow playing him or don't feel like he's right for their system. I really don't know.

Bird, I honestly think it's because he doesn't fit the duke "image." I can't remember them having a player with dreads.

Yea not only the image but his game isnt based on having a high b ball IQ and more on his athletic ability. It wont work kind of like Austin Rivers last year.

Don't think his bball IQ is the problem. He has a much higher Bball IQ than Quinn Cook and quite a few of the other guards they have. The dreads might be a problem, but if K really had a problem with them, he would just ask him to cut them for bball season. If he really wanted to go to Duke, I wouldn't think changing his hairstyle wouldn't be too much to ask.

@jdemling: Jarrell Martin wasn't all that talkative but said he's been hearing the most from UCLA, Louisville, Baylor and LSU. @Top100Camp

That's pretty different news than from other recent stuff.

Anyone know when the first signing period date is? Also, assuming we keep Hale and Taylor, who you yall think we close with?

I want to say it is in the middle of October. I'd expect us to sign a big man such as Simmons or Jones in the early period and hopefully Barber will decide in the early period as well. A guy like Martin will go to the spring. Sina should be announcing before August but Rutgers is leading the charge right now. I think we are 2nd or 3rd.

@GTuckerF150: 2014 SF Jalen Lindsey of the Georgia Stars says #Alabama is the first school to contact him so far tonight

@SECBballRecruit: Ole Miss and Alabama have texted 2014 SF Elijah Staley per @coachcamp41 . @highriser33

@GTuckerF150: Alabama and Georgia Tech have already called 2014 wing Ahmed Hill of the Southern Stampede (GA); "I've got a lot of texts though."

Starting at midnight, coaches are allowed to call and text. I think the texts are now unlimited.

@JoshPaunilNRS: Troy Williams says Alabama & Georgetown are recruiting him the hardest but UK & UNC are significantly ahead of the other four.

Well, that definitely isn't a good sign for us.

I wonder if CAG is now looking for another wing. Apparently we cooled off of Martin, who we looked to be in decent shape for, and now the latest I'm hearing is PGs and wings. I imagine if we land Barber though that would make us very strong contenders for him as well. BTW: Here is a link from a post on bamamag forum on Barber. Certainly the best one ive seen on him. Didn't rule out committing to us after his visit to us after the NBPA camp

I was just about to post that Bird. That's a great sign for us whether he commits on the visit or not. Unoficially visiting is huge.
