What the hell does this even mean?

How is Rooney going to coach a team that is done for the season?

here is plenty of stuff to do in the off season. Some as simple as helping the current kids from summer leagues to play in. Most should already know this except for some freshmen

Mrbroker, you were right about the "with cause" thing. I was wrong.

It's simpler and quieter. Bama definitely had cause but Goff could have made it nasty like Galloway did. It's not enough money o be worth that. This already doesn't look good for people not in the know with what's going on. Just pay him to go away.

his payout is prolly just a small chip in the budget considering how much da man NS makes. Pay him in a settlement type agreement and all go their difference directions. Goff may have seen the handwriting on the wall and ticket off enough people to get this done mutually

About a $1.9 million buyout. Plus his staff.

I'll bet that was probably negotiated a little bit too. Byrne had a lot of leverage. Wouldn't surprise me if he gave him a million and a non disclosure clause and told him to hit the bricks.

Please, if any of you hear names of candidates, share them. I read in another thread where Byrne is still close with former MSU baseball coach/current AD John Cohen who has quite the coaching tree. Byrne hired Cohen as the Bulldog baseball coach and the current baseball coach there is a Cohen disciple. They've all been quite successful coaches and it was suggested that Byrne will consult with Cohen and possibly hire another of his protégés. No specific names mentioned but Cohen's crew is impressive.
