Check reddit.com/r/CFBStreams/ on Saturday and there should be a thread for the Bama game.

We are currently without our CBS station (owned by Nexstar) in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa market. Gonna be a real problem when the SEC on CBS starts.

Honestly I would look into getting an HD antenna, they are pretty cheap and the picture quality is actually better

I recommend the HD antenna as well. Solid ones start at 30- 40 bucks. Some one posted Puffer for free streaming on PC and mobile devices of NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS, FOX, and Univision networks.

You could also just do a trial on one of the streaming services if they carry CBS or ABC in your area (PSVue, YoutubeTV, HuluTV, SlingTV, ATTNow) before the game and cancel if you only need it for the first game. I guess you could do the trial for each one and get five games .

make sure you have a clear path to your station. I live in valley and the hills block the ABC signal. So, this $$75 HD antenna had to be returned

HD antenna if you are within 25 miles. You can go up to 50, but it's going to depend on the terrain.

You can use antennaweb to predict what channels you can get.

Antennaweb

I stream, so I use them for local channels even though I get them on stream. More reliable and comes in a few seconds faster.

In Birmingham, it's the CBS affiliate that's owned by Nexstar. I've been waiting for a couple of months for DTV and Nexstar to get their shite together.

Screw Direct TV - had them for 17 years and when I called and asked for NFL ticket recently (that they give to new subs.) - they told me to pretty much go ahead and cancel.
Gonna switch to Spectrum mobile as well - AT&T (which owns Direct TV) gets no more of my $$.

This is the way to go. I actually made one several years ago when they cost more than they do now. It's made out of scrap stuff I had laying around. I mounted it in my attic. The picture quality is better than any other cable/internet I've used.

In the past, I've had difficulty picking up OTA stations out of Birmingham in Tuscaloosa.

Yeah, I should have mentioned, I live just outside of Madison, near the Huntsville stations.

Hell, I just used the above antennaweb website and there are several areas over the mountain just in Shelby County that can't pick up the CBS affiliate. Or an ABC.
I guess people need to build one of these:

I believe DTV will give you an HD antenna if you call them and complain.

I've done that in one room. Unfortunately, on the side of the house that my den is on, I can't pick up CBS 42. DirecTV sent me a free HD antenna that was supposed to be able to connect to my Genie box (thus allowing me to avoid switching between sources), but it would not pick up in my den.
