You left us when we needed you most.... Whats your initial thoughts on the DeBoer hire.

Personally I like the hire. Risky yes, but feels like this is the direction you need to go to win in modern college football

Going to have to figure out how to get a bunch of "Wolves" on the field at the same time. Way too much talent at that position to have some of those guys on the sidelines.

Think that just about every option had some risks, and this one was no different. Happy with how he has seemed to understand them and attempt to address them so far with his hires. He seems to get it, and get that this is different than where he was before, and that matters. Like that his hires have been creative and addressed issues, not just re-tread old guys like Charles Kelly and Lance Thompson or something.

He's clearly an excellent football coach and as long as we keep most of the guys we couldn't have on the roster I think we'll be in good shape the next few years. After that, it'll all come down to recruiting, and I think that is still entirely up in the air. No clue how it'll go.

All in all, looking forward to it.

We'll be fine. Transfer portal.

We’ve got about three months to get our ducks in a row, locate some NIL funds, and get ready to go shopping. That sounds horrible but welcome to CFB 2024.

Transfer portal is closed unless Alabama wants players from Washington, Arizona, San Jose State, South Alabama and Buffalo.

It reopens in the Spring for everyone, at which time we should have a better handle on what additional pieces we need for the upcoming season.

If we can keep the rest of the starters here and pull the C and CB transfers from UW we’re rolling

I'd love to see us find at least one bigger WR as well. Looks as if our entire crew is under 6'. WOuld love to have a big target that can go up and get some balls in the endzone.

Caleb Odom is going to have a big role in this offense.

Appreciate the analytical data you provide SOG seriously and I hate to be an arse but how does this translate to a new 4-2-5 defense by position. Do we have the guys we need to switch on the DL?

I’m not SoG but I took his graphic as a guess for how we will run the 4-2-5.

Welcome back George,

I think we get Muhammad now. Before he was iffy because we had Amos now we need him more.

depth charts

Great work SOG but could you post those charts in black and white and larger? I'm 80 and don't see as well as in the past. Thanks in advance.

I wouldnt be surprised if Linguist knows Muhammad too. He would have been coaching at TAMU during his high school recruitment in the Dallas area

I'm not an X's and O's guru so I'm not the best for that. I do know that viggo over on BOL has posted a bunch of interesting stuff about our new defense and the types of guys that would fit into it.

Great work SOG. Just one request though. Could you repost in Times New Roman 12? It’s just that that’s what I’m used to reading and your use of exotic fonts and stuff is a little over the top. Thanks in advance.

Don't be surprised if you hear Baby Kirkpatrick name a lot. He's always around the football. Reminds me of Malachi Moore a lot.

If Brockermeyer can’t get the job done at center, the #2 guy is RS freshman Roq Montgomery (changed his name to this, formerly Ryqueazy McEldarry). The #3 guy is a walk on (don’t recall his name).
