Wetumpka lost to fricking Opelika on a last second GG That's the second straight year we should have beaten them.

The game we've all been waiting for is tonight. And I honestly have no idea who will win this game.

#3 Thompson @ #2 Hoover

I watched both teams play @Spain Park. If the transitive property actually worked, then Thompson would destroy Hoover. The thing about Hoover is that they are so well coached, they are going to play well against any team they face. On paper, give me Thompson.. but this is Hoover we are talking about...

My 2-7 Arabian Knights only need to win against Guntersville to make the playoffs. Of course if there was a line on this game it would be GHS - 42 or so, but hey....there's a chance! Come on RAIN!

13-10 Hoover, less than 90 seconds in the 2nd quarter.

Over 17k for the game

Some 7A scores
Oak Mountain 29 Spain Park 3 (OM wins rivalry in surprising blowout)
Vestavia Hills 28 Tuscaloosa County 0
Mountain Brook 25 Huffman 19 (MB down 19-0 but came back)

6A
Homewood 23 Hueytown 7 (Homewood improves to 9-0)
Wetumpka 27 Ben Russell 18 (WHS wins region)
Chelsea 24 Helena 17 (battle of 1-7 teams)

5A
No. 1 Briarwood 21 Pleasant Grove 14 (BCS survives upset scare)

The big game tonight was Hoover falling to Thompson. They will probably play again in late November unless Hewitt can beat Hoover

Oxford was off this weekend. They have Sumter Central next Friday to finish off the regular season (hopefully with a perfect 10-0 record). They will play Hueytown in the first round of the 6A Playoffs.

Thompson at Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa on Thursday. Thompson should roll but Hillcrest has won seven straight since starting 0-2.

Hewitt’s massacre of Bob Jones is looking real nice. Really hoping they can bring home the hardware soon. What happened to the Hewitt kind of reminded me of what happened to the Indians when the Marlins became a franchise and won the World Series so early.

Almost a year or 2 after Clay split, they won a state championship. All the athletes were on Clay’s side when the split happened so...yeah.

It’s a shame the promotion to 7A happened right as Hewitt was getting good. Would’ve loved to see Clay to get what they had coming.

I'm not the biggest fan either, but 6A was a large classification that was being run by two or three schools at the top.

Rumor has it that the AHSAA is going to move more teams up to 7A in the next realignment
