Central Phoenix City beat Auburn High 34-28 last night. Crazy, but Auburn had the lead 21-14 at halftime. CPC came out and scored 14 though in the 3rd quarter.

Hoover bear Mt Brook 31-21. Mt Brook played pretty well and had two 100-yard rushers in Joiner and AJ Gates. Hoover though was up 24-7 at halftime. Hoover will play rival Spain Park next.

McGill Toolen beat Murphy 21-14. Murphy had this game won, until they fumbled deep into Toolen's territory. McGill Toolen ended up throwing it to the RB late in the 4th for a TD.

Spain Park beat Vestavia Hills 33-14

Prattville beat Enterprise 45-21

Thompson crushed Tuscaloosa County High 63-22

Wetumpka beat Cheslea 44-22. Wetumpka was without their main RB, Smoke. But JD Martin ended up having 4 TDs on the night.

I saw Briarwood in the spring against Sylacauga and they are pretty good. I also saw the defending 5A champ Beauregard tonight and they are going to have a great shot at repeating! La'damian Webb, Mr Football for last year is back!! Kid ran for 3,200+ yards last year and 47 TDs on the ground. Accounted for another 7 via kick return or int!! They have a big line and they have a QB that can throw it and WRs that can go get it!! Beauregard beat Sylacauga tonight, 61-35 and it wasn't that close!!

This was and will probably be the best game of the entire regular season. Jay Barker's son is actually the QB for Spain Park and played a nice game. SP definitely gets up to play Hoover.

Wow. That's pretty crazy. Oxford leads Albertville 36-0 in the 4th quarter.

ETA: Final in Albertville. Oxford wins 43-0. That's their second shutout of the season. The Yellow Jackets are now 5-0 on the year and ranked #3 in 6A Football.

Next Oxford plays Benjamin Russell in a possible 6A Top 10 matchup.

Hewitt-Trussville at Bob Jones will be interesting. Hewitt-Trussville won 59-49 last year and has won 15 straight regular season games.

The guys that do the HS show on Jox highlighted the Gardendale @ Clay-Chalkville as their game of the week. Clay-Chalkville won 23-20 last year, and both have pretty explosion offenses.

Hewitt Trussville, Alahunter’s (god rest his soul) and my alma mater, made an interesting hire a few years ago in Josh Floyd I believe his name is. Dude was a QB under Gus and eventually took over coaching after he left. Don’t quote me but I believe they won at least 1 state championship in Arkansas.

Floyd is doing what Hoover did a lot back in the early to mid 2000s. Taking kids from other districts and pooling them into the team, to a lesser extent that is.

Fully expect them to have a state championship in hand in the next 5 years.

Isabella 35/Loachapoka 6
Maplesville had a BYE

I'm so excited for next week. Class 1A game of the week will be #6 Isabella (likely #5 after tonight) will play at #1 Maplesville. Former Maplesville OL coach is the Isabella HC. He's done an amazing job at IHS in his couple years there. Isabella is probably the only team that has a chance to beat them, but sadly I don't think they will this year.
