Following this week's reports that the NCAA has launched an investigation into Michigan for alleged sign-stealing from opponents, the "linchpin" of the allegations has been identified. According to ESPN's Pete Thamel and Mark Schlabach, the NCAA is investigating Connor Stalions, who works as a football analyst...
quote:

"Connor Stalions, a football analyst with the Wolverines and a retired captain in the United States Marine Corps, is a person of interest in the investigation into whether No. 2-ranked Michigan violated an NCAA rule by scouting future opponents in person at games, sources said. The NCAA prohibited such scouting in 1994," they wrote.

"Sources said the NCAA enforcement staff's level of interest in Stalions is so significant it sought access to his computer as part of its investigation. Sources indicated that the process is underway, although it's uncertain what investigators will find."

Why can't NCAA just use helmet radios like the NFL? It's not like teams can't afford it

We will prolly just give army all our signs pregame. You know, out of honor and respect for our military.

They’re trying to use a military persons requirement to agree with investigations to sink Michigan? Pretty low of the ncaa tbh

i don't understand the outrage on this. if a team is using signs out in the open, why can't the opponent observe them and try to interpret them?

This. It’s on each team to make sure they aren’t obvious. I hate Michigan but stealing signs should be legal

Tell the NCAA to frick off, they don’t have subpoena power, so they can’t make Michigan give it up.
