Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody is not happy about Florida State getting snubbed by the committee and has decided to launch an investigation into the College Football Playoff....
quote:

"I’m a lifelong Gator, but I’m also the Florida Attorney General, and I know injustice when I see it,” Moody said, via the Tampa Bay Times. “No rational person or college football fan can look at this situation and not question the result. The NCAA, conferences, and the College Football Playoff Committee are subject to antitrust laws.

“My Office is launching an investigation to examine if the Committee was involved in any anticompetitive conduct. As it stands, the Committee’s decision reeks of partiality, so we are demanding answers—not only for FSU, but for all schools, teams and fans of college football. In Florida, merit matters. If it’s attention they were looking for, the Committee certainly has our attention now."

This moron needs to be reminded that bowl games, and the Championship series, is an invitation. It is a private entity that decides who will participate. Every bowl is the same as well. It is not like the baseball CWS. The committee INVITES who they want. They could have invited McNeese if they wanted (heads explode now). Waste of taxpayer money.

This may be the biggest waste of time and money in the history of the earth. It's opinion based. The terms of the playoff selection were agreed to by all parties. Now if there were SPECIFIC language in there regarding unbeaten teams then you have a case.

The committee chair (Boo Corrigan) is N.C. State's AD and six people on the committee are from the ACC, specifically no FSU people though. When FSU was bashing the ACC earlier in the year and essentially saying that they are too good for the ACC; these committee folks couldn't have taken well to that and likely decided to stick it to FSU. Not the whole reason, but it had to be part of it.

I feel bad for the FSU quarterback. It seems like everyone, friend and foe alike, is blaming him. It may be the biggest "tossing under the bus" of all time.

FSU lost the key piece of its entire offense, the QB, injuries to key players are public knowledge when choosing the 4 best teams at the end of the season. They felt FSU was not top 4 because the team that went undefeated in a down year for the ACC was not the same anymore due to injury. This is a metric in the decision. Now you have some idiot wasting tax payer funds for votes. Most politicians are abhorrent humans.

Would not even surprise me if the REC pays certain Fla St players to sit the game against Ga. Bring the bumpers to court and expose all of this. Would make a great daytime drama TV show for us all to see

It’s going to be royally funny if Fla State beats Ga by more than the gumps beat Ga by. I’m sure the CFP committee will make sure this doesn’t happen by giving Ga Fla St signals and referee calls to influence the games outcome to protect the CFP decision to keep Fla St out.

Political grandstanding. This is a waste of time

If FSU beats Ga, shite should hit the fan and the REC Methods and tactics be made known to all colleges and fans alike through subpoenas

Who wore it better, FSU or Patrick Mahomes?

I remember a 1-loss FSU won a Natty back in the 90's. They were pick for the game over an undefeated W. Virginia.

Now, I pray Georgia beats them like a drum.

I’m fine with it. The board suggested they knew the future. That’s not how it should work as a 13-0 undefeated conference champ of a P5.

They're charged with putting the 4 BEST teams into the playoff. They got it right.

Maybe it’s just me, but “Let’s get the government involved in this” is almost always the wrong solution to the problem.
