Should Auburn Have Kept Tuberville, Tennessee Kept Fulmer?

Spin off from an earlier thread where I was surprised at some Auburn fans saying hindsight would have Tuberville coachin Auburn beyond 2008? I'm of the opinion that there was too much water under the bridge by that time and with the rise of Saban, things would have got worse before they got better on the Plains.

With Tennessee, I wonder if they would have stuck with Fulmer would they be digging themselves out of the depth right now? Logic says Dooley hurt more than Kiffin but would extending Fulmer been worse?

What are the thoughts of tRant

Fulmer should have been fired after 2005.

Tennessee should have kept Fulmer. Auburn got a national title and heisman trophy after firing Tuberville.

Tennessee's mistake was keeping Fulmer too long, not firing him.

If you listen to Phil now he makes it seem like he just needed time to reinvent himself

They would be better off now but no-one could have predicted what happened and fulmer was in tdecline. They could've done a better job of firing him though.

He is delusional. The job he did from 02-08 was horrendous.

I think both Tubbs and Auburn were ready to move on.

Karma's a bitch.

That's what you get for being a snitch. Yeah, Alabama suffered for the Albert Means thing. But at least that was relatively short term. Fulmer tried to destroy Alabama and, since that time, Alabama has won 3 national championships and Fulmer was forced into early retirement. Good riddance to that tub of lard.

My thoughts as well but there were a few earlier who said otherwise

Hell no. I loved him while he was coach here but it was time for new blood

Probably but at the time I agreed with what they did.

Are you retarded?... what have either of those two done since leaving their schools?.... Fulmer is a consultant for TN Tech or some shite, and tuberville's been painfully mediocre since leaving auburn.

The moves were the right moves... the replacements were just terrible.

They both did the right thing. No matter how bad UT has been they still needed to start the process.

I always get a nice chuckle out of Bama fans saying this.

He did the right thing in trying to keep the sport clean, beat Alabama badly throughout his career and won a national title and multiple SEC titles (all while doing it the right way).

How is it karma when the program that has to cheat to win is rewarded in the end?

That's laughable. He was snitching while Tennessee has its hand in the honey pot too.

And yet, he couldn't get any of the jobs he wanted.

I kinda feel sorry for Phil but based on how he got the Tennessee job and what we down with Bama, I do tend to think he's experiencing a bit of Karma right now
