Baseball team to host Grambling; Men's Hoops finish No. 17

The LSU Baseball team, ranked No. 2 in the latest Baseball America poll, will host Grambling tonight at Alex Box Stadium. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 23-8. Grambling is 5-23. Freshman lefty Randy Zeigler will make his first career collegiate start versus Grambling.

Sophomore catcher Micah Gibbs was named SEC Player of the Week on Monday. For the week, Gibbs hit .385 with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored.

In LSU Basketball news, the Tigers were ranked No. 17 in the final Coaches poll released yesterday. LSU was the only ranked SEC team.

According to this article on 2theadvocate.com, junior forward Tasmin Mitchell is still weighing his options as he mulls a decision to turn pro or return to LSU for his senior season. If Mitchell does not hire an agent, he will have until June 15 to make a final decision.

In LSU Football news, the team continues its Spring Break, and will return to the practice field on Monday to start the final week of Spring Practice. The Spring Football game will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 5pm CT.
