LSU's Taylor Pleasants Hits Walkoff Single In 14th Inning Of SEC Softball Tournament

AUBURN, Ala. – Pleasants hit a walk-off run-scoring single in a 14 extra-inning game as LSU defeated Alabama 3-2 in the first round of the 2024 SEC Tournament Wednesday morning at Jane B. Moore Field.
LSU is now 39-14, while Alabama moves to 33-17 this season.
Sydney Berzon (18-7) earned the win after tossing five strikeouts in a 14-inning, 208-pitch complete game. Berzon allowed two runs on eight hits with six walks.
Raeleen Gutierrez had a 3-for-6 performance, with Pleasants going 2-for-4 with the game-winning RBI.
LSU will challenge the top-seeded Tennessee Lady Vols at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 9.
The NCAA Division I Softball Selection Show will be televised on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. CT on Sunday, May 12.
