LSU offensive coordinator Cam Cameron is expected to meet with media late Friday, along side head coach Les Miles to announce that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Per The Advocate:

The program expects Cameron to remain offensive coordinator, and he plans to coach the 2015 season, the source said. Cameron has received treatment for the cancer.

Team spokesman Michael Bonnette declined comment. LSU, ranked No. 14 in the AP poll, plans a news conference with Cameron after Friday evening’s practice, scheduled to end at about 6 p.m.

Damn, I hate to hear this. Hopefully they caught it early and it hasn't progressed. Godspeed, Coach Cam.

The slowest form of "C", so hopefully it was caught early and just needs seeding.

Prayers to him and his family. Dad and Granddad had it. Easily one of the most treatable forms of cancer out there if caught early enough (and let's hope they caught it during a routine checkup). If it's slow-growing enough they'll seed it, but at his age (relatively young) it may be best to just go with a prostatectomy. If he were in his mid 70s or older the docs would tell him (as they told dad) to just do the radiation seeding because he'll die with something else before this kills him.

SmackDaniels, he doesn't have cancer anymore. It was removed two months ago. They had this press conference immediately after someone mentioned it on social media. All is well.
