So, this is what it's coming to? Maybe I'm selfish, but if this would become the norm...college football as we know it will sadly become less attractive. JMO

It's actually them who are selfish wanting badly for him to sit out the season, and a guy like Fournette, who is the ultimate hometown kid, isn't like that. The funny thing is that this wasn't nearly as big of a deal with Clowney or anybody else. Where are the, "Watson, McCaffrey, Garrett, etc," should sit out people? Don't remember them telling Mariota or Luck to sit out either, and both could have gone top 3 overall as JRs. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks people really don't want Fournette playing for LSU this year. I mean Gurley was suspended and had a season ending knee injury as a junior, and still went 10th overall. Not only would Fournette still be a top 10 pick with an injury, he has 2 insurance policies in case anything does occur.

What a bunch of STUPID morons... can they please not say another word and save us all their ignorance also it would be very beneficial for them and us to sit out a year or more.

Let's say Fournette were to sit out this upcoming college football season. He would get crushed by the NFL draft personel for his lack of commitment to his team and they would question his desire to play the game. Nick Wright is an idiot.

LSU has a player out for the season with an ACL Injury that he got in a Non Contact Drill. You cannot plan on what is going to happen!! Like the Kicker that was killed in a Car Accident.

he sounds like a oney grubbin hater. 7 can just easily up his draft stock by doing more than doing nothgin and he can go to school when the nfl season is over. What an idiot. I can't afford the college but he can. So he might do that if he wants. It's freakin Buga!!!

Obviously, LSU must be on his college team's schedule. Get over it dude! He gonna play this year and he's gonna drop 200+ yards on your team. Except it and move on...

Newsflash from sports media experts: Apparently, the best players of a sport should avoid actually playing the sport.

That's legitimately the first time I've heard someone brag about that. But the punctuation and spelling check out, so I believe you.

Of course you all want him to play. You're not the ones risking millions.

so you speaking for LF now? You know what color his heart is? you know what his goals are? If not then STFU!!!

The dude will get millions even if he doesn't play another down of football. That said, you know how rare career-ending injuries are? Not only is this kid a competitor, but he knows full well his responsibility as a leader of this football team. Also, as a fiercely pro-NOLA/Louisiana guy, he knows exactly how important this team is to raising the spirits of the state and the people he loves. So spare us your sanctimonious bullshite.

There are players on the LSU roster who will not make anything from the NFL. They enjoy being and playing as Tigers. We enjoy watching these players also. If you logic is sound, maybe Jamal Adams should sit this year. He will make millions. Same with Tradevious White. Heck, Jacob Hester should've sat in 'O7 since he made millions in the NFL.
