New interim head coach Ed Orgeron made it clear on Monday during his introductory press conference that change was coming to LSU.
quote:

"We needed a change. Some freshness. Some energy," Orgeron said. "We're going to change things. We're going to flip the script."
One of those changes is the way the team will conduct practices.

Orgeron said Monday that practices going forward would be shorter, suggesting that players will spend more time in the meeting rooms studying film than on the practice field.

Monday's walkthrough practice which is usually 90-120 minutes long only lasted 30 minutes. A move that many players will definitely enjoy, as some said they were starting to get worn out during the week.

Another change that Orgeron made was allowing the media into practice on Monday, something that has not happened in a long time during the regular season.

After practice wrapped up on Monday, a few LSU players took to Twitter and seemed excited with the new changes.

Instead of meeting with the media after practice on Wednesday's like Les Miles would do, Orgeron will be meeting with the media after practice on Thursday.

Change is coming. Get ready LSU fans.

Also looks like visors will be allowed. Not a big deal, but something Les was always against .

What did Les have against visors? Remind him too much of Spurrier?

Been hearing for years practices were too long and players were wore out come Saturday...shortening them being one of the first changes is very telling

frick all the rest of the world. I am here to say Ed Orgeron fricking bleeds Louisiana. The guy is the perfect man for the job. You can hear it in his voice. He's Cajun and now's how to bring the fricking pain for LSU. He is LSU and Louisiana State is him.

It's his job to loss. If he wins out its his. If he wins all but bama may be his still just depends on how the other games look. If he loses two they will go out and hire someone and keep him on staff If he loses three they run him off too.

Sad that it took wasting 2 games to get to this point of enthusiasm. Why didn't Les just make the changes he needed to make to give these guys a chance this year. Geaux Tigers! Geaux Coach O.

Give him a 1 year deal this gives you time to find a quality guy if it doesn't work out. Unless they find or know who that guy is already? They may have but who ever it is needs to listen to the players and his assistants on what they need to be successful. They need to hold everyone accountable for bad plays poor execution, drops, improper technique, ect. Make that person complete rep after rep of his mistake and fix it right then and there. You don't need to punish a team for one persons mistake. Now if it's more than one and the team needs the extra reps then yes. Aranda and coach O need to make these guys work on tackling technique also. I didn't see Wisconsin tackling with an arm or one shoulder they wrap up. This should be a priority for our defense. This alone along with being aware of where the football is and attacking it would improve our defense tremendously. DBs need to turn their heads around also, and attack the ball at its highest point. It's a lot of the small things we not doing as a team that is making a huge difference. They need to get the real DBU back over here and show these boys how to play on the back end because we lost that style of play somehow. Bring HB, PP, Simon, Reid back over here and let em listen to them!!! GT

If he gets this team playing dominate smart football again I'm all for coach O starting until he proves he just can't handle it. Let him go get another OC and replacements for who he thinks should be replaced and see what happens. I'm pretty sure he isn't taking this position for granted like I believe Miles was toward the end. He wants what's best for LSU and will be willing to make changes where they need to be made. GO TIGERS!!!

As a fan and student, I'm excited. But seeing the players, who are most intimately tied up in all of this, are so optimistic and excited on their own, I'm ECSTATIC for them, myself, and ALL of Tiger Nation!

We're finally going to see what we should have been seeing for the last 7 years.

Well maybe we are going to see what we should have seen at the beginning of this season. Les could have made the changes he promised Tiger Nation and Administration and maybe would be sitting here trying to start the season over. And maybe while we are it the Board of Supervisors could fire Alleva.
