CBS broadcaster and former Florida State QB Danny Kanell didn't had a very "lame take" after his alma mater's 60-point loss to Georgia in yesterday's Orange Bowl...

CFB has a problem. What happened in this game is a symptom not the disease. The outcome may well prevent happening to this extent again. UGA had the same problem on a smaller scale a few years ago and the players that came back didn’t allow it again the next year. That same group of leaders lead UGA to a national title 2 years later. It was so bad this time it may change the culture of CFB for the better. Say what you will about the players opting out at heart you gotta think the competition means something…that may keep as many from quitting on their team.

FSU players quitting was disgraceful.

Very sad. The committee got it right. FSU is not a playoff team.

ESPN and the committee's wet dream of a Texas - Alabama rematch isn't going to happen so in reality, the committee got it very wrong.

Georgia had 17 opt out. But they have a winning culture. Had absolutely zero to play for but came out and played Championship football, F State gave up, plain and simple. Crybabies took their ball and went home. ACC president voted against the 12 team playoff. Georgia should have been in the playoff but the NCAA was terrified of another all SEC final. Politics as usual.

No, no, no. Georgia had depth from recruiting freshmen and developing every member of the team vs cherry picking "Portal Prodigies" that will bail leaving the team with kids over their heads.

That’s the culture at UGA. Recruit well and develop players.

I really wish Danny had done a reaction to LSU vs Kansas st a few years ago when 3/4 of our team sat out. I guarantee you he would have killed us…….

What is the point of any bowl game outside of the final 4 this year or the final 12 next year?

To play a game you love on National TV before 80,000 fans?

80,000 fans? He said outside of the final 4. I watched 5 bowl games in a row that didn't have 50,000 total for all 5 combined. Bowl games are for the fans of said teams in them and they don't even go.

Another month of practice to develop players. The same as they’ve always been. At no time in the history of college football has more than 2 bowl games a season ever “mattered”….usually only one. It’s also a chance to play a game that MOST players love to play. The problem is many do not play primarily because they love it, it’s a job interview. Can’t blame them, the paycheck is incredible, but playing for the sake of playing is missing.

Biggest coward move a college football team has done in the history of the ncaa. 20 opt out to avoid the arse whoopin... front running cowards.

UGA wasn't losing that game no matter what the situation was going into the game.

FSU against UGA, was like LSU against K-State when everyone left. FSU was down to 29 scholarship players. He's right. It was a glorified scrimmage. Both teams knew it and anyone who made money betting UGA knew it too.

No it wasn't. Lsu was 6-6, fsu 12-0... they were afraid of uga...

If the score had been anywhere near competitive, this a-hole would be crowing about it. He wouldn't be calling it a scrimmage.

Only FSU thought it was a scrimmage? Did Georgia not get the memo? At what point did FSU decide it was a scrimmage?

After the game. They were chirping nonstop for the last 3 weeks about how they were going to be voted number 1 after they trounced UGA.
