There's no way to understand why the universe (God) does what it does, but we can only hope that it does it to teach us something, to make all involved better somehow (including fans).

On a similar note; has there been some studies done that say most knee injuries are not caused by impact? Having had a bunch of knee injuries, it scares the shite outta me seeing these guys out there playing in SHORT PANTS!

On a positive note…we do have depth on this defensive line …Mekhi Wingo is no slouch either

LSU is cursed since 2019.

Now he will play his junior year. Probably be an impact player then get drafted. After all the hype LSU gets 1 year of production. Maybe?

Get the surgery done as soon as the swelling subsides so you can get him at least 9 months to rehab. Even then the last year we will ever get from Smith will most likely be a year where he’s getting back into game condition so we may never really see the greatness that he can become before he heads to the NFL. I’d be absolutely shocked if he stays 4 years eve if next year isn’t a big year from him. Teams are still going to spend a 1st on him just by his size/speed/power combination projects to an all-pro NFL DT.

Celebration injuries are so hard to stomach…I’m guessing he won’t do that again the rest of his career.

Such a sad outcome. It does provide opportunities for others and is our deepest group of players, but was really hoping to see significant success between Smith and Roy.

Back in the day, nobody had heard of an ACL. Now your season ends for jumping up and down and tearing an ACL.

I wonder if athletes have just gotten too big for their bodies
