I knew a baw who used to play EPL ball. Survived a plane crash that wiped out about half his team. Following season he managed to set ManU's single season goal scoring record, that still stands 64 years later That's movie worthy, not a bunch of drunken tards running amok.

Will this be the way the Aggies react if they ever see a chance at an NC?

Yes, they do. It’s worse for fans in the USA as that’s 4-7 am

It’s been years ago now, but I was up at 6 am in Hawaii to see a UGA noon kickoff.

I lived in Italy and England for a number of years so I've experienced the good and the bad when it comes to Serie A and Premier League World Soccer.

Let's hope American Football fans never stoop to the level of some of the Premier League assclowns.

Can you imagine watching an entire football game and the score is nil - nil?

There were no matches this week that had that happen (EPL). Liverpool was up 3-1 with 5 minutes to go and ended up in a draw at 3-3, for instance.

I think a lot of us non-native soccer fans were probably introduced to in the 2006 World Cup when I remember it being widely shown in bars. American TV announcers were awful, and seemed to be targeting the daddy daughter crowd. The amount of absolute trash the EPL announcers talk about each other, and both teams, is awesome.

I think we discount "fake" injuries a bit too much. If someone bumps into my Achilles at H-E-B, or runs a cart into it, it's a minor inconvenience (any dad that has the kid pushing the cart and run into you from behind knows what I'm talking about.) If I was running full speed (soccer speed, not my full speed), what looks like minor contact can send shocking pain. This week, I watched an attacker essentially fly into the pole at the goal, a goalie get nailed in the face by a knee/thigh/johnson at high speed (the stretcher was brought out and returned,) at least one guy in the Spurs match got stepped on while running to the point his cleat flew off even before he hit the ground, etc. There is surely some bullshite, but not to the extent most of us think. And people still buy LeBron jerseys, too.

I think they're all just really pissed off that they have to watch soccer. I'd fight random people too if I were forced to sit through that week after week.

One of my grandsons plays soccer, I love him to death but I’d rather be beaten with a stick than to sit through one of his games. They are in the 11 year old range and all they do is run around kicking one another it seems like.

But the parents are a different story, they get into it big time and I’ve seen them jaw at one another, it’s more entertaining than the game.

Happy my daughter quit soccer, until I started getting bills for dance. Profoundly grateful son switched from baseball to lacrosse early. Baseball and non-pro soccer are dreadfully boring. Especially when most of the team comes from your hood, it's like a PTA meeting of harpies.

My kid (LAX) plays defense, so I'm near the worst parents on the planet, the attack dads, at I'm talking about what they direct both at their own kids, and the opposing team's kids. It's embarrassing. I keep moving farther towards the goal away from them (with N/C buds in,) and somehow I can still hear the ex wife yelling like she's at LSU/Bama at mid-field.

I'd buy that...

But you don't see Rugby players or Aussie Footy players constantly laying on the field stopping play like they do in soccer.

I got to go to a Palmeiras match in Sao Paulo about 20 years ago. It was mid-day on a Wednesday and was freaking packed. It was impressive.
