re: Movie Characters that were miscast
Posted by StatMaster on 4/21/24 at 6:53 am
I thought Katniss and Peta were horribly miscast in the movie versions of The Hunger Games. Although the actors did a decent job of portraying the characters, the physical discrepancies between them and the book characters were impossible to look past IMO....
Zero SEC level starters at defensive tackle next season
Posted by StatMaster on 4/12/24 at 5:59 pm
And yet some of you still predict 10 wins. Guillory is the best we have and he could not play in front of Mason Smith or Jordan Jefferson (who were mediocre at best). ...

I think that there are WAY too many advertisements and he gets pulled away from it the action trying to fit in some dumb ad. Having better color guys would help....

She’ll make a salary in addition to her NIL money (endorsements). It’s a no brainer....
re: This is a rebuild year for the baseball team

This team is way better than they are playing right now, but this is baseball and these slumps happen all the time. Ole Miss played bad all year in 2022 and the got hot at the end and won the NC. I’m not saying this team will win the NC, but they will find their groove at some point and play up to t...
re: Refs for the WBB game
Posted by StatMaster on 4/1/24 at 10:46 am
WBB refs are just bad and we all need to accept that fact. The women play so physical you can nearly call a foul on every possession, and the refs are terrible at figuring out consistently what level of physicality is a foul and which one isn’t. Therefore, you just get a Willy-nilly enforcement of f...
re: The Stand 1994 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> The Stand 2020
Like most King books the ending is pretty much a wet fart
Loved the book except for this very thing. The book is titled, “The Stand”. I’m expecting an epic battle between good vs evil at the end and all we get is an accidental nuke going off. Such a let down. Otherwise a great book....
re: So what's going on with Marvin Harrison Jr? Will not be working out at OSU pro day
Posted by StatMaster on 3/20/24 at 4:47 pm
I would point out to you that MHJ was not the leading WR for OSU in that game and that in the game prior to that one in the SEC title game, Nabors had similar production (more yards) against that same Georgia defense with a backup QB
And I would point out to you that Harrison was absol...
Hmmmm, we’ll see. His play doesn’t wow me. If he were at Cincinnati and not OSU the hype wouldn’t be there for this guy.
Please go and watch the 2023 semi-final game in which he DOMINATED Georgia, a team full of pros, and then get back to me on whether you think his tape is good enough...
re: Has Tommy White’s surgery hindered him more than we anticipated?
Posted by StatMaster on 3/14/24 at 7:01 am
I think he’s pressing a little bit. It’s a contract year for him and with the lack of ABs in the fall, it’s added up to a bit of a slow start. I also think the pitchers are pitching a bit different to him. He seems to be getting beat on inside pitches more often. I think the scouting report is to b...

The women’s basketball ball refs are horrible in general. If they were any good, they would be calling men’s games....

Sciatica is due to a nerve being compressed. It’s either compressed coming out of your back or being compressed somewhere else along its path. You need to figure out where it’s compressed and then do stretches/exercises to free up the nerve. Find a good physical therapist to evaluate your condition ...
re: I think we’ll be fine at the defensive tackle spot this year
Posted by StatMaster on 2/10/24 at 3:33 pm
we’ll be fine at the defensive tackle spot this year
I think we’re gonna be below average. We were very weak this year outside of Wingo and these guys were backups this year. Jones was a bad defensive end and often got pushed back off the LOS at end. There no way he would be serviceab...

re: A wind day, not a snow day, but wind…..schools out.
Posted by StatMaster on 1/10/24 at 8:52 am
Yes but the one time a tornado hits a school full of kids, there will be hell to pay for the officials that did not let the kids off. Even if the chances of that happening are low, the officials are going to err on the side of caution on days when the threat of tornadoes is much higher than normal. ...
re: How do you compete with Alabama and Georgia with no defensive line?
Like open coaching positions, there is talent banging at the door trying to get in.
Alabama, Georgia, Texas etc. won’t be relying on other people’s throw-aways to start on their front. They have 1st round draft picks. The NFL type talent that is needed to compete in the SEC is rarely ...
How do you compete with Alabama and Georgia with no defensive line?

Guys that are historically back ups give us no shot to play with the big guys. It’s very disappointing to already know you will suck next year....

Why do colleges consider postseason games as part of their season?
Posted by StatMaster on 12/30/23 at 1:30 pm
Shouldn’t their season consist of regular season games and the postseason be separate? A 10 win season should not include a postseason win IMO....
