Apparently a gig is a pronged spear for hunting small game, such as frogs. The Ags were set to play the TCU Horned Frogs, and someone said "gig 'em," and it stuck for everyone....

Things obviously did not work out for them this season, but we did have Arkansas on our schedule for non-conference. At the time of scheduling the contract, Arkansas was a top 15 team. Joining the SEC made us scramble to find acceptable opponents. Hell, half the SEC couldn't believe we had La Tec...
