I'm more interested in inquiring if you are ok brother? That's a loaded question and I want to make sure the undertones aren't being missed here. I'm available to talk if you just need an unjudgmental ear. ...
Just curious, given the recent change, who is paying the former 3% buyers fee? Recalling here that the seller floated the entire 6% prior to the change. Perhaps this has something to do with the seller hesitating on your counter. ...

Not certain if they have the time or the patience; however, there is a program out there that's really good for first time home buyers. A full point is taken off of the interest rate and there is no down payment required. I used them many years ago for my first home; however, there is a process. ...
I swear this is like pick your poison. If the job report is positive so goes a good day in the market, but also not so good news for future rate cuts. If the job report is negative then the market responds negatively, but we then look for the potential rate cut in the horizon. Where is th...
TT will guide you. If it's incorrect TT will mention any issues when it's time to file. I enter K-1s in TT. It's rather straight forward. Follow the prompts as asked and you should be fine. There is a query function in TT if you desire more guidance. I've always purchased the TT agent hel...
People who want a definition of “woke” are woke. People who have eyes and ears and have watched society devolve to men competing in womens sports don’t have to ask for a definition of “woke”
I was under the impression that we were going to have a serious conversation. I see that ...

“ Blaming the problems of people or institutions on racism, sexism, ect.” Ok. I can respect your definition of Woke, but I’d like to share with you that it is not the definition people of color has for it when used. Somehow the word or phrase got twisted and is now used as the definition you shar...

"the FAFSA assesses 529 assets at a maximum of 5.64 percent of the value when calculating ..." You would be correct. Admittedly I was not adequately educated on the matter as I am now. In hindsight, I should have left it alone. ...
Some would suggest never using insurance as an investment tool. My personal belief is you acquire an IUL based upon your needs/desires. For example. My wife and I have one. The intent is to have something to pass onto our children in the event of life departure. We did not opt for a term policy,...
Had a 529 for roughly 15 yrs. Got spooked when I learned that FASFA counts it against their calculation for tuition qualification amount. Proceeded to roll it into a Brokerage Account. In hindsight, if known about the current rollover option, I would have left it alone. I'm not too broken up abo...

Figured it out. New company (started in 2023) software did not seem to capture W4 inputs properly and therefore Fed. Withdrawals were half of what there were in the past. Note to self to check these things annually. :banghead: Thanks @slackster. You pushed me to think differently about this...

You are indeed correct. All things being equal, in your scenario, taxes should be lower. The 7% I speak of in my OP should result favorably on 2023 taxes. Something else is going on regarding my matter. I'll have to dig deeper. ...

2023 Tax Filing

Posted by Nu Iota Prophet on 2/6/24 at 10:45 am
Anyone else seeing a shift in your prep filing of 2023 taxes? I'm noticing preliminarily that I owe considerably for 2023 whereas 2022 returned a refund to me. No shift in income. Even with the income thresholds for the 2023 tax brackets adjusted significantly (up about 7% — from 2022 due to...
