The same place as the bears and wolves, eradicated from their native home. The settlers replaced entire populations of people and animals for their benefit. But let’s not compare 1850 to 2024. I think they can handle herd losses today much better...

I bought some Adidas Terrex trail shoes on sale a few years ago and love them. I’ve hiked up to 22 miles in a day with them, mostly marked trails but also a bit of scrambling and had zero issues with blisters. Grizzlies were everywhere out west before settlers killed them off. I get why ranchers don’t want them back but that’s a fearmongering article. There’s already evidence that grizzlies have started to spread back into parts of Idaho...
