re: 2021-22 decoy spreads

It amazes me how many people don't realize what hunting an area that ducks use with 6 decoys of any kind, a wigeon whistle, and a dozen shells can accomplish....

Because original piping was lead, plumbum in Latin hence, the periodic table symbol, Pb. ...
This is what I do for a living. On a domestic scale, you can probably just add some standpipe to the plumbing line if you have the vertical space, you can slow the closing of the valve, or otherwise reduce the acceleration of the fluid. Anyone who hates the sound their ice maker makes when it stops ...

Start at ST 151 and fish every rig, buoy, floating trash between there and the edge of the shelf. Wahoo come onto the shelf starting in December through about April to spawn. They are not deep in GC, ~150'-350' is what you're looking for and surface temps 67-74°......

I posted a while back about moving to Houston from New Orleans and finding some new fishing/ hunting opportunities fairly close to home and got some decent advice. Still haven't found a place to duck hunt that isn't priced sky high but I digress. I've come to the decision that I am going to try and ...
More like real life 2.5's... It is just about impossible for 6' waves in Barataria Bay... Anybody who has truly been in 6' waves knows the feeling of being in a trough and seeing nothing but water and its a sinking feeling, pun intended......

re: Sliding cork rigs, what say the OB?

Posted by geaux001 on 7/30/12 at 12:34 pm

re: Anyone own an Avet SX reel?

Posted by geaux001 on 7/27/12 at 11:07 am
I have a couple of their 30W's as well and they aren't near as smooth as my Tiagras but again, they have so much drag, more than I can realistically hold without being harnessed, so I decided to convert them to my Amberjack and Grouper reels. Matched with 200# hollow core and a 250# mono topshot, I ...
