AT&T is likely going to Acquire DirectTV, or attempt to at least. If this happens speculation would be that DirectTV would therefore get SEC Network since AT&T already has contract with them. Not guaranteed, but likely. Mergers can take a while so still want to hope that Direct TV and SEC Network...

Yeah, don't see hippies on Rainey much, mostly young professionals, if looking for preppy croud west 6th might be best spot then. 6th St also good for college party crowd...

Some of my favorite restraraunts - Barley Swine, Salty Sow, Uchico, Uchi, Qui, La Condesa, Contigo, Franklin BBQ, LA BBQ, Jay Mueller BBQ, Sway, Elizabeth St Cafe, Odd Duck, Kome, Taco Deli, East Side Kings.
Too many bars to list - hit up Rainey Street for sure, way better than 6th. If you like bee...

For Austin these are some of my favorites. Barley Swine, Salty Sow, Foreign and Domestic, and Contigo are all good ones for dinner. East Side Kings is the best food truck around hands down. Just curious, why do you hate Fireman's 4 so much? I agree that Real Ale has a lot better beers than that and central TX/Austin has tons of better beers, but I'd have a hard time taking BMC over it....

Haven't lived there in over 5 years, but last I was there it was slim pickings. BWW is probably your best bet. Cherokee is awesome, but not the best sports venue....
