I fish with 15lb braid to a 15lb flouro leader, tied with an alberto knot. I've been tying it for years and I have never had it to fail. I fish the low-country in SC so what works here may not work for you guys in LA but the Zman Texas-eye jigs and Zman Diezel Minnowz are a deadly combination here....

All the Atlantic snapper must be hiding in the Gulf. We only had one, two day season. The SAFMC has ruined fishing for the recreational guys....
