Not sure how big you're looking to go but will throw out the ECOXGEAR Boulder+ as a larger option.
I've had mine for years. Use it in the boat, throw it in the lake let it float, use it for parties, etc. All I can say is it's impressive.

The water in a hot water pipe does not magically remain hot thus preventing it from freezing. Hence why when you first turn on hot water and depending on how far away from the water heater the faucet is, you must wait for the water coming out...

But yes, for your issue, speed square is the answer. They also make them in many different sizes. For example I have 3. My largest is 12 or 14 inches. So cutting say even a 2x12 I can still and do use it as a fence/...
