re: What is the quickest you’ve seen a couple marry?

My grandmaw once met this man and they got married after knowing each other for two weeks. Strangely enough, it lasted the longest of her three marriages....
re: Earnhardt Senior Passing...Do You Still Remember? What were you doing at the time?
Posted by ldts on 3/30/24 at 3:44 pm
I was at work delivering pizzas. I had made all my deliveries and was sitting in the parking lot listening to the end of the race before going back in.
we suddenly have all of popular content ever made, available at an instant on demand.
I've long thought that it can't be good for people to have so much on demand like it is now. There's hardly any waiting for things, people are missing the anticipation of waiting until next week ...

Apparently there's someone from Wichita Falls that looks a lot like me. Have had several times when I've been there where people have come up to me there talking about they haven't seen me in so long, don't I remember them from school, etc....
re: How do you deal with the guilt of living far away from your aging parents?
Posted by ldts on 3/6/24 at 5:24 pm
That's how I've been with my mama the past few years. I've applied for a bunch of jobs near her, but have only gotten one interview for a job I didn't get. She's in her 70s and only has so much left, would sure be nice to be closer while I have the chance....
re: Rabbits
Posted by ldts on 3/3/24 at 8:11 am
I don't know if they're still around, but there was a little market (don't remember name but began with a C) in Cankton that used to have rabbit. It might be stretching your 100 mile limit, but could be worth looking into if you don't find something else....
re: USPS in disarray

That's got to be a glitch. Look at the times. There's no way it arrived in New Orleans at 1:30 and was in Dallas around three hours later....
re: Would you do a long road trip vacation?
Posted by ldts on 2/12/24 at 6:45 pm
I love road trips. Usually like to find several places to stop for a few days each on the way to where I'm going. There's so many interesting things to get out and see....

I didn't even think about that. Just bought one!...
re: Why do we still need can openers?
Posted by ldts on 2/2/24 at 8:00 pm
I don't mind using can openers, just wish they'd do something about the quality. I used the same can opener for 20 years, then it got lost while moving. Ever since then, I can't seem to find a can opener that lasts 6 months....
The biggest hinderance to people becoming successful is being able to manage risk.
Somewhat related, but I think the biggest hindrance is that people get too hung up chasing after huge gains on a single trade. I've found that what works for me is to go after higher probability tr...
re: Have you ever had a negative interaction with a Mexican?
Posted by ldts on 1/28/24 at 1:39 pm
I've always had good interactions with them. My neighbors are Mexicans, and they're good people.
When it snows, the city doesn't plow my street so I usually get out there and shovel it. Seems like every time I'm out there shoveling it, some random Mexican will drive past on the main street, s...
