SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey had a blunt message for everyone about the College Football Playoff this year...
quote:

"I didn't need so many incoming emails I received," Sankey said, via ESPN. "I can only imagine hearing from those on the selection committee who are volunteers what they received.

"I think some of the statements made in the immediacy of selection were disappointing to me as a colleague, and I would maintain that the strength of our league – sure we lost some games – but as I look at what were the four best teams, I would maintain that we had two of those four. But again, the selection committee makes that decision, and we respect the decision."

Well Greg, maybe you shouldn’t have overloaded this league with every powerhouse program you could get your grubby paws on!! We’re looking at an SEC Champion every year now that will probably have at least 2 losses and all at the mercy of a committee of biased idiots each with their own agenda Thanks!

I for one would like to see 16 team playoff with P5 champ auto bids and computer/ranking for the remaining 11. No automatics for non P5. Liberty would have been, this year what a joke.

UGA has won enough recently so they deserve no shilling for or sad commissioner tears.

Spread the wealth, Greg.

If the committee was honest and consistent, they would have used the “player availability” argument to put UGA in over Alabama because Bowers and McConkey were slowed by injury, but could have been healthy for the playoffs /:

Or they would have just followed a
decade of precedent and put the three undefeated P5 teams in, then let the result on the field dictate the only decision they really had in putting Texas in over Alabama. No reasonable person would have questioned that.

It's amazing how LSU fans wrap themselves up into a pretzel trying to figure out ways Bama shouldn't make the playoffs. It's an annual tradition. You embarrass yourselves.

The committee and Bama fans did the mental gymnastics to get Bama in the playoff. Every other fan base was just as disgusted but you choose to hang out on an lsu message board.

Bama and Texas were both propped up by suspect officiating throughout the season. When put a field with neutral officiating neither could get the job done.

It’s a perennial occurrence with Bama. Constant calls that favor them at just the right times has been a thing for years. Mulligans only work in their favor. Fans are tired if it, and it’s way past time to clean this up.

Wonder what new arrivals Texas and Oklahoma are going to think about the officiating

The conference champ lost in the semi-finals. Get over it.

And still deserved to be there. Get over it.

After they lost, Finebaum went down the list of all the glaring problems they had this year, calling them "good but not great." Suddenly there were red flags everywhere, indicative of a team that didn't deserve to be there. Quite the crawfish from a month ago, Pawl.

There wasn't a better team to put in that spot.

Try and learn what “blunt” means, then put the one you’re holding down.
