Former Auburn Coach Pat Dye Thinks The Iron Bowl Should End
RVR Photos-USA TODAY Sports
While on his ESPN radio show, former Auburn head coach Pat Dye revealed that he thinks the Iron Bowl between rivals Alabama and Auburn should end and Auburn should head to the SEC East...
quote:

“I’d rather see Auburn in the East than us to play Alabama every year,” Dye said Tuesday for his weekly radio show on ESPN 106.7-FM in Auburn (the show airs on Wednesday).

Yes, Dye said he’d rather Auburn move to the East even if the Tigers couldn’t play the Tide annually.

“We don’t need to let Alabama dictate what we do at Auburn,” he said. “We can play them on a rotation, just like everybody else.”
What do you think?

Why would anyone who loves Auburn football NOT want to play the Iron Bowl very year? In addition to being one of the greatest and most historic rivalries in the country, Auburn is one of a very small number of programs who has the table set for them every year...win your other games and cap it with the Iron Bowl, and you are IN. Boys, if you want to BE the best, you have to BEAT the best.

This guy has lost it, really, this is one of the most anticipated events in college football, giving Auburn great recognition. The real problem is the same problem LSU is having, they need to win one of these games now and then. This is just pure idiocy. What needs to change is the format for the SEC championship game that currently excludes an Alabama vs. LSU or Auburn match-up. Watching Ala versus also-ran and unranked East team is a travesty.

What annoyes me is any of these assholes can play each other any time they want to. Jist don't count it as a conference game in the off years. This never gets mentioned as a scenario. Move everyone geographically to the right division instead of the pandering we have now.

If I kept getting my nose rubbed in shite, I'd probably agree with Pat's reasoning.
