I'd rather not take a JUCO honestly. Seems like the hit rate on JUCO DL is even lower than a normal JUCO player.

Thompson
Hawkins
Atkins
Ledbetter
Barnett
Rivers
Young
Rochester
Clark

Should get Derrick Brown and Michail Carter as well.

We should be OK there without a JUCO. Bellamy can help out too.

Completely forgot about Atkins for a second bc I believe he was out for the Mizzou game with that injury.

Jenkins worked out well for us, but everyone else has been a miss IIRC.

I'm really excited for our D Line over the next couple years. We're just stockpiling talent (similar to what Bama does) at the position.

Nice rehash of old statistics, but it doesn't answer the question. What does he have to do for you to agree that he should go?

And each of your statistical points has an easy rejoinder:

quote:

He has also won Two SEC Titles

Yeah, both during the Bush administration. He's used up whatever credit that bought.

quote:

You can't stack it all on the guy.

He's the head coach. Ultimately, it is all on him.

quote:

He has had several years where we were poised to be a national title winner/contender and things didn't work out.

So did guys like Pete Carroll. Some even got one. They aren't still at those jobs anymore, and not all of them left voluntarily.

quote:

We also haven't had a above average quarterback since Murray.

But he's a "great recruiter," right?

quote:

It's not that he wasn't pulling in highly recruited guys its just that they didn't work out.

But he's a "great recruiter" and coach, right?

quote:

You act like the guy hasn't accomplished anything. The last few years have been, admittedly, frustrating but that is not all Richt's fault.

There's not much debate that he showed considerable promise as a coach in his first 5 years. It's been the 10 years since that have been a problem - there's basically been no improvement, and quite a bit of regression. At some point, you have to deliver on the promise shown, and that's what he hasn't done.

quote:

With the right staff (which he has built) and the right players (which are coming together currently) I believe that he can and will win a title.

So, is this your answer? A title with this current staff and current players plus maybe one more year's recruits? If he fails to accomplish that, then he needs to go?

IMO, Richt will be here 3-4 more years max. My gut says he'll hang it up either way after that.

I rewatched the game yesterday and man, I couldnt' believe how many freshman we played consistently. Even on our last 2 defensive drives with the game on the line, we had freshmen at pretty much every level.

I could certainly see that. Of course, being Georgia, we'll totally fail to plan for any eventuality like that, though.
