I know we've been disappointed with the offense, and understandably so, but I thought we could look at some of the positives from yesterday. I know Mizzou has a crappy offense, but here were the guys that played a good portion of the snaps as far as I'm aware:

Senior
Ganus
Bailey

Junior
Floyd (gone)
Kimbrough
Mauger
Amaechi

Sophomore
Sanders
Parrish
Carter
Bellamy

Freshmen
Abram (Tr.)
Briscoe (Tr.)
Hawkins (Tr.)
Ledbetter (Tr.)
McGraw (Tr.)
Patrick (Tr.)
Thompson (Tr.)
Smith (Tr.)

That's pretty dang promising IMO.

Should have definitely included him originally. That's 8 true freshmen getting serious minutes. Shows a lack of depth from the 12 and 13 classes, but it also shows promise and I think we'll only get better now that we actually have 12 people on our recruiting staff instead of trying to have Brandenburg do everything by himself.

I thought Abram played a lot better yesterday. I know Mizzou blows, but he was making plays. He looked totally lost the last few games.

One thing to really be pumped about is our defense going forward. Unfortuantely I doubt we keep pruitt much longer but at least we're stockpiling young talent across the board on defense. Our DL with Trent and the rest of last year's class plus Manac, Rochester, and probably Brown is going to be sick in the next few years.

We really just need the offense to step up. It fricking sucks because we're basically going to be crap at QB utnil 17 at the earliest, but hopefully we can skate by and have the defense carry us.

Just wait for next year on D if we can ink Rochester, Brown, Manac, and Burns. Also we should get McCrae in from JUCO. Our D is gonna continue to get more nasty. If we only could get an Offense to go with it. Need to have some OL with some size and strength to go with some WRs.

I can't even count how many times I saw big TT knife through their OLine and just make Lock have to abondon the pocket. Kid is just getting better and better.

Haha sorry WG..just saw your post...sooo I second WGs post!!

I thought Deloach played a good bit. Also, Bellamy is pretty young and he played all night.

I guess Floyd is gone, but it wouldn't floor me if he decided to stay. He's not a 1st rounder right now. Even so, there shouldn't be a much of a talent drop off from Floyd to Carter and Jenkins to Bellamy. We actually will be more talented at ILB and DL next year, but they will be young and inexperienced. The DL in particular.

It was fun watching them play last night. I think Mizz had about 8 mins of possession time in the 2nd half.

People always point to 2008 being the year we should have got it done but I'm telling you when these defensive freshman grow up and Eason gets his feet under him it is going to be the best UGA squad in decades. Georgia hasent had a stout defense since at least 2012 and not a championship caliber one since probably 2005. We have the right man there in Pruitt and he has recruited well. We just need some time to let these guys grow up. The SO and JR years for Eason are gonna be great. They will be a veteran, talented defense with depth, size, and speed. That's why I'm not on the fire Mark Richt train. If he some how doesn't get it done by the time Eason leaves then I might change my mind. Yes, we under achieved in 2008 with Stafford and Moreno but they didn't have the defense I think Athens will see in a few years.

I couldn't agree with you more. Everything you said hits the nail on the head IMO. We just need to make sure we continue to get the same quality level RBs during Eason's sophomore and junior years. We're also not positive he's going to work out based on previous #1 QBs in the nation. Don't get me wrong, I think he's going to be great, but we can't act like it's going to be a certainty.

Might? Exactly how badly does he have to frick up before you'd legitimately consider parting ways with the guy?

"Mark Richt has a higher winning percentage over his first 190 games (73.68%) than any coach in Georgia history. After 190 games, Vince Dooley stood at 67.37% near the end of the 1980 season, and Wally Butts stood at 61.05% during the 1956 season."

He has also won Two SEC Titles, 5 Division Titles, and is generally in the mix every year. Yes, he has yet to win a national title and has under achieved at points in his career and while this is concerning we see this in different ways. With the right staff (which he has built) and the right players (which are coming together currently) I believe that he can and will win a title. He is no Nick Saban and is he not going to win a three peat national title. But there is only one Nick Saban and we ain't getting him. He has had several years where we were poised to be a national title winner/contender and things didn't work out. You act like the guy hasn't accomplished anything. The last few years have been, admittedly, frustrating but that is not all Richt's fault. 2013-Half our team tears their ACL and derails a decent season, 2014-Gurley Suspension and Injury, 2015-Chubb Injury. You can't stack it all on the guy. We also haven't had a above average quarterback since Murray. It's not that he wasn't pulling in highly recruited guys its just that they didn't work out. When UGA has been good they have had a really good QB, which has not been the case since Murray went down in 2013.

In my opinion this is Richts last chance. Talents like Eason only come around every so often. We will have the tools in place in the next few years for a title run(assuming of course the staff stays and we continue to recruit like we are).

I truly believe Richt throws in the towel if he can't get it done with Eason at the helm.

Just my opinion.

True Freshman are starting more and more. The guy at UCLA has played pretty well. With the shite show at QB this year I think we are probably better off just letting Eason come in and take his licks but maybe that's crazy talk.

The defense sets up to be filthy nasty for the next two years. We always seem soft in the interior D but the talent and depth is starting to stockpile.

We lose Mayes, Bailey, Deloach, and Dawson up front. Honestly, Bailey is the guy that made the most impact and he's replaceable. Probably wouldn't hurt to take a JUCO guy or two, just sayin'...

We'll have depth on the D Line with all the guys we're bringing in. JUCO may not be a terrible idea for one bigger guy.

I'm excited for Ledbetter. One of the plays he made on Saturday was so freaking awesome.
