Yet another school nestled on our border wins the MNC. Not good for UGA imo

Clemson will make a living with Georgia players. Liked it better when we got Carolina's best players.

They've already been doing it with Watson and Hyatt. Probably some others, that's just off the top of my head.

Doesn't help us much but it really sucks for USCe. Muschamp's going to have a hard time getting in State players.

In 2016 Clemson signed 1 player in the top 20 of GA. UGA signed 7.

Currently for 2017 Clemson has 1 player committed in the top 20 of GA. UGA has 13.

Richt aint here anymore, I'm not too worried about recruiting with kirby.

Watson was simply a miss. Sucks, but that's recruiting.

Hyatt's uncle was an All-ACC player and starter on Clemson's '81 title team. Anyone blaming our staff for not getting hyatt is just being unrealistic.

That's one off the reasons we fored Richt and hired the best recruiter in the country as HC. Just look at our current class.

Clemson is also a very dirty program.

Nobody was ever arrested or got academic issues, with 85 roster spots? Not a single issue?

They are all-in up there, worse than Tuscaloosa.

Yall remember when Dabo got a speeding ticket and the cop was fired?

Just out of curiosity...how many of Florida's top 20 did Florida sign last year? They've won the East 2 years in a row......

How many top 20 GA kids did they sign?

I see this line of thinking a lot. Am I alone in thinking 13 out of 20, while an improvement, is pretty average for a state with no in state competition? We act like "beating Bama" for an in state recruit is a huge deal. Shouldn't we expect to beat them for Ga players?

13/20 with some still uncommitted is really good. Some aren't even major targets (Sermon, Mills after Fromm committed)

The 1981 Clemson team was loaded with GA players. Whose fault was that?

I see your line of thinking a lot, and it's the most blatantly misleading question I can recall.

"No in state competition" is pretty foolish considering clemson, SC, UT, AU, Bama, UF, and FSU are all within a short drive of the GA border. Throw in the fact that GA is the 4th most talent rich state in America and you're going to have people come get some guys, we sipmly can't sign the top 25 every year.

2016 was a kinda half-class since it was mostly richt when kirby at the end. But you can see in kirby's first full class as a head coach he's already got 13 of the top 20 (with potential for 2 more, making it 15 of 20) which is practically UNHEARD OF. Schools like Texas, UF, USC etc dont' even sign 15 of the top 20 in their states.

shite, UF current has 0/20, and Texas only has 1/20.

exactly.

Getting 15/20 in a state like Georgia is almost unthinkable. I'd have to really dive into some research but I'd be willing to bet that even at USC/UCLA/Texas/UF/Miami/FSU's heydeys they never signed anythign like that in-state. It's remarkable.

A team winning a national title is going to see a recruiting uptick, that's only natural and it's expected. But to act like the floodgates are opening and GA is going to get raided like it did in the 90s is simply not true.

Auburn, Clemson, UTn and USC have always recruited Atlanta hard. That dates back to when there was more of a state identity in GA. NOw, ATL is made up of millions of people not from ATL or even GA... yet we have some sort of expectation for them all to be loyal to the college 60 miles to the East that many never have been to...

Hai guise. There are kids that want to play for UGA and there are kids that don't. It will always be this way. It doesn't matter if they win a national championship. We have always recruited against these schools. Nothing is going to change.

Definitely unrealistic to get all the best ATL kids. The strategy for UGA imo is to do the best you can there and clean up in other parts of the state that are less transient.

When UGA starts getting whipped consistently in rural Georgia, we've got a problem.
